Finished my series in honour of Carrie Fisher and Princess/General Leia. Too often, I get caught up in how cool Vader or Boba Fett look, or how popular some of the other characters are, and I forget how important and how impactful this woman is. From the first moment she grabbed the blaster out of Han's hand, the landscape of female characters changed! Alternating between British diplomat and Bronx scrapper as the the situations changed, she displayed a quality of leadership ...(in a fictional story, but easily extrapolated into reality) that was admirable and inspiring! For over 40 years, we have watched the diminutive Rebel bring the evil Empire to its knees, proving once again 'size matters not'. But the size of her heart is immeasurable. Thank you, Leia. (and obviously, thank you Carrie Fisher for breathing life into the words on a page, and realizing this strong woman who is continuing to inspire). Marie Jones made mention about doing a portrait of her, and in less than 5 minutes, these ideas had solidified in my mind. Please enjoy.
