I know I haven’t posted in a while. Well, here are a couple of smaller paintings I started recently. As much as I love the finishing stages, these beginnings sure are fun. . . . .... #stilllifepainting #stilllife #painting #art #realism #underpainting #classicalpainting #classicalrealism #realistart #traditionalpainting #realistpainting #oilpainting #apples See more

My painting of a basket of plums is on its way to Chelsea, New York for the upcoming exhibition Still: A Survey of Contemporary Still Life Paintings presented by @sugarlift gallery. Lots of great work by many still life painters in the exhibition from a variety of schools and mediums. In-person show opens at 508 W 28th Street on Thursday, September 10th. Check out www.sugarlift.com for more. . . . .... #stilllife #stilllifepainting #fineart #realism #realistart #classicalpainting #art #tradionalpainting #classicalrealism #exhibition #Newyork #chelsea #sugarlift #sugarliftgallery @ Chelsea-New York City See more

Finding inspiration of what to paint has never been an issue for me. I’ve never been able to catch up on all the ideas that I want to explore, which can be frustrating at times, but I do feel lucky that I never run out of things to paint. There have been plenty of times, however, that I’ve stumbled with managing my time wisely. It’s really easy to get wrapped up in all the responsibilities involved with running an art business, let alone everything we have to do in everyday... life. A trick I started using a long time ago, when stalling in front of the easel trying to decide should I paint now or take care of the other ten things I have to do first or do I have enough time today to get through this part what I would do is quickly get some paint out of the tubes and on to the palette. Now I’m committed. It may not sound like much but paint isn’t exactly cheap and every time I did this it forced me to get at least something done. Even if only an hr straight of painting. Not once did I ever regret forcing myself to paint. Even if I had other things to do. I figure it doesn’t matter what it is, whether it's painting specifically or going to the gym or anything else you are trying to get done, finding ways to get unstuck and get moving can be a big deal. Hope you are moving forward, chasing your goals and finding ways to improve your productivity. . . . . #art #palette #oilpainting #motivation #inspiration #mixingcolours #realistart See more

Throwback to a little painting from a couple of years ago (2018, sold). Dark cherries like these are always fun to paint. . . . . #cherries #darkcherries #stilllife #stilllifepainting #contemporarypainting #traditionalrealism #classicalrealism #realism #realistart #art #painting #oilpainting
