I just want to show all you gardeners a wonderful plant from my garden that is not only an ornamental but also an edible. Look at the glowing white bark on this black raspberry. It is a variety called Munger. August it bears a lot of flavourful black fruit. I love garden plants with must season interests. I have a few in 1 gallon pots at the farm if anyone is interested.

Not a plant this time but one of my roosters having a mud bath. Too bad he likes to attack me so he might go to summer freezer camp soon.

Well after 4 years my Giant Himalayan lily( cardiocrinum giganteum) has bloomed! Sad part is the main plant will die after forming seeds. One of the most fragrant plants in my shade garden.

My new gardening friend ask me to visit to see her 3 year old hardy outdoor cactus plant. It is starting to bloom and had about 100 flowers forming. This opuntia cactus produces edible purple fruit if the flowers are pollinated. Also, the pads are edible when you bbq the tiny thorns off. She has never covered it and it has had up to 1 " of ice on it a couple of winters ago( Mission). They leave the basement windows open all night as nobody in their right mind would try to enter. Ouch! A real treat to see.
