The goal of this 4 minute video is to help gain some insight on how WE can make change in our work environment at any level. I'd recommend taking some time to really think about these questions, even if you are not comfortable sharing. Change starts with a thought provoking question and we need to *empower* our people to start thinking differently in order to make a difference.

In our current work world full of virtual meetings and conference calls, how do we continue to lead and engage our teams? For starters, our leaders need to SEE us. We as leaders (regardless of title or hierarchy) can take a step back from the transactional pieces of our jobs and genuinely take the time to understand our people. How are you actually doing? How was your family trip up north?", What are some of YOUR ideas on how we can make the virtual work world a *temporarily* better place to work?, as examples. The best part is. YOU don’t have to be a manager to make these kinds of leadership changes in your organization. Leadership is a mindset and future forward attitude.

The number ONE focus with coaching is helping your clients understand that they have the power within. There can be a misunderstanding that a coach should have all the answers for the client, and this couldn’t be more inaccurate. YES, there are best practices and YES I do provide suggestions, but it’s ultimately up to the client to take this information and interpret it for themselves in their careers and lives. The most important piece of the puzzle is that the client has t...o WANT IT. They have to be frustrated, they have to have a crazy amount of emotions they do not know what to do with. They may not have the confidence or a clue what they are doing, but they need to have faith in taking a chance. As a coach who has worked through various HR situations and who has been through some personal battles and career challenges, I can relate to what my clients are going through, but I cannot tell them what to do. The goal is always to help the client find the answer within themselves. As Ben Horowitz quotes If the keys are not in there, they do not exist.
