Firefighters without Borders Canada is pleased to accept another donation of PPE, SCBA and medical supplies from Marmora and Lake Fire Department for our projects

What a hot evening to have a large brush fire !!! Due To The Prolonged Dry Weather The Municipality Is Enacting A Restricted Fire Ban Which Only Allows For Small Self-Contained Fires: no larger than 3 feet wide and 3 feet high... for cooking or heating not closer than 10 feet from any combustibles the fire must be extinguished properly. People are responsible for their fire and any costs associated with fighting a fire that is allowed to get out of control. Fire permits are not required for small self-contained fires. No permits will be issued for open air burning.

As of midnight tonight we have been advised by the MNR that they will be lifting the Provincial Fire Ban. The fire chief has advised that we will be allowing small self contained fires for heating and cooking purposes only. No open air burning and no fire permits will be required or issued. We would like to remind you that the Municipality of Marmora and Lake is located within the East Fire Region of Ontario, which is controlled by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. There is still a full burn ban in effect so that means on top of no burning there are also no fireworks permitted. Fines will be issued for failure to comply with the ban. Marmora and lake fire department would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Victoria Day weekend.

Hello all, I hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy. This year, should flooding occur in your area and if you require sand for sandbagging, Marmora fire department will have sand available in the normal spot behind the hall. Broadbents Home Hardware has sand bags for sale at the store.. also with the Covid 19 , WE DO ASK THAT THERE BE NO MORE THAN 5 PEOPLE AT THE SAND AT A TIME PLEASE AND SOCIAL DISTANCING IS REQUIRED! The Marmora fire department will not be bagging sand and also will not be delivering sand to residents this year !!! We are sorry for the inconvenience that this may cause.

MARMORA &LAKE FIRE DEPARTMENT Please be informed that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and new response protocols for the fire department, fire permits for open air burning will not be issued and all open air burning is banned for the entire area of the Municipality of Marmora And Lake for now and will remain in effect until further notice.
