Marmora Outdoor & Dive Festival

Just a few reminders for this weekend. Breakfast starts at 8 am not 7 am (my bad) for Saturday and Sunday mornings. Due to the high volume of traffic, the dive site area will be for loading and unloading only. This will ensure the safety of divers and their equipment. This also clears the area for emergency services. Parking will be located at the following locations: Cameron and Highway 7 Tourism Office on Highway 7... Madoc and Bursthall Streets, and Bursthall and Forsyth Streets Maps will be provided at the festival. Each parking location is less than a 5 minute walk to the dive sight. I'd like to thank both Canadian Sport Divers and Canadian Sport Subs for their very generous donations to the dive festival. Prizes, diving, guest lectures, wine and cheese, live band, and a great forecast....it's gonna be a rockin' great weekend. See you there.

Now that the crappy weather has past through things are taking shape for the festival. The schedule for the festival is: Friday - Volunteer meeting at 10 am Registration beginning at noon Underwater navigation dives beginning at 1 pm to 5 pm... Saturday - Registration begins at 8 am Breakfast runs from 7 am-11 am Snorkel races at 9 am Treasure hunt at 8 am - 4 pm Lectures - 11am-4pm Wine and Cheese social - 4 pm - 7 pm Dance 8 pm -? Sunday - Breakfast 7am-11am Lectures-11am Wrap up-2pm If you wish to volunteer, please join us for the 10 am volunteer meeting on Friday.

A shout out to Dave Burnside from Burnside Carpentry for the donation of several dive lights and knives as prizes for the dive festival.

Marmora has informed us that the bridge on Highway 7 over the Crowe River will be reduced to one lane for the month of June. Anyone coming to Marmora from the west may want to take the 401 and travel north into Marmora.
