So very grateful for these three souls who I am so honoured to have in my life. I’m patiently waiting in bed while they make brunch. A tradition my husband started many moons ago when these two were just babies. Not sure how he used to pull it off back then but now I can hear all three of them in the kitchen talking, laughing and cooking together and my heart is so very full. Fact: I didn’t always want to be a mom. I wasn’t one of those girls who daydreamed about motherhood.... I didn’t babysit in my teens to earn extra money and I didn’t coo over other people’s babies. However when I met my husband I knew deep down that I wanted to raise a family with this man. We had a short courtship before getting married and our son was born before our first wedding anniversary with our second following 17 months later. The four of us make a unit. We are tight. Together we’ve made or own traditions and memories and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Motherhood is probably the hardest thing I have ever done. Sure there are lots of days I feel that I’m disappointing myself and falling short. But every day is a new day, you show up, you do your best, you apologize when you’ve done wrong and you keep on loving. And then you look at the amazing human beings that they are becoming and for a moment you pause, stop worrying and just embrace them and tell them how much you love them.

What's new? Well, my husband and I are house shopping. We have been renting for nearly the past two years since moving home from Western Canada in 2017. I'm very excited to have my very own canvas to work within creating a home for our family again. It also means we will be able to bring our Welsh Pony, Maize, and mini donkey, Lottie home again. So please send us all your positive home buying vibes so we can find our home. Since we've been renting, I wanted to write a blog post on how I have created a home in our rental. If you're renting and even if you're not, I hope you'll check it out. Link in comments.

This client is living her dream of life in a seaside cottage. The journey to get there was full of intention but as with any journey, there are challenges. Her and her partner downsized from a larger home, sold off a second cottage which resulted in them having years of furniture from other homes and trying to pull it all together by deciding on what to keep and what new purchases to make. The decisions of size of pieces as the cottage is a small space and where to even star...t resulted in decision fatigue which meant they just kept putting things off. That's where I came in. I was able to provide them floor plan options, source the right size pieces of furniture to ensure the space felt spacious yet cozy, and provide them with a render of their space so they could see how their space would look before purchasing a single item. And the best thing? We were able to accomplish all of this virtually! Step1. We had a quick discovery call Step2. We had the initial consultation over Zoom. Step 3. Client sent photos and measurements. Step 4. Presented floor plan option(s) over zoom for feedback. Step 5. Presented the design scheme over zoom. Step 6. Sent the client their final floor plan, room render, and source list! They were able to order everything online and pull their space together without having to leave their home! Designer style at the click of a button. Check out our online design packages. I promise you won't be disappointed.

A modern coastal master bedroom. Love the texture of the grasscloth wallpaper, the rattan dome shaped pendant the upholstered bed in a grey linen. Soft blues and greens are the accent colors and give me all the stripes. Love these pillows!!

A lovely modern classic coastal bathroom for a cottage by the sea. The key when working with neutrals is to use a combination of warm and cool tones, mixing metals and I love to pair pieces with a more modern silhouette like this mirror and rug with more classic pieces such as the vanity. I also prefer a vanity on legs so it looks less boxy and visually heavy and more like a piece of furniture. Your design take away: 1. When working with neutrals use a combination of warm an...d cool tones. 2. To avoid the design/space from falling flat, include texture and pattern like I've done in the hex tile, rug and linen shower curtain. 3. Mix metals- we have chrome plumbing fixtures and lighting and added in black accents with the hardware and mirror. 4. Consider a vanity that looks like a piece of furniture. Bathrooms aren't huge spaces so avoid boxy heavy looking pieces where you can. 5. Don't be afraid to mix styles- a modern mirror looks great with a more coastal inspired vanity light. See more

Happy birthday to this guy right here. He’s the silent partner behind Marsha Sefcik Interiors. He often accompanies me on-site with client projects. He’s my wallpaper hanger, window treatment installer and he can whip up a shiplap wall like nobody’s business. So a big cheers to this guy for all that he does to support me in my creative pursuits.

Restyled this little table in our kitchen this morning. It was our hot chocolate station over Christmas. I think EB approves.
