In this video, I discuss couples counseling and how important it is to take a deep look into your relationship to understand the root of the problem that you an...d your spouse, or significant other, are facing. Often times, we tend to minimize issues or dismiss them, hoping it will resolve or go away on its own. I hate to tell you this, but relationships take work, and all too often couples find themselves not putting in the necessary effort to ensure their relationship is healthy and long-lasting. Couples counseling and coaching can often time be the most effective way to address and resolve issues in the relationship. There are many misconceptions of couples counseling, and being a therapist myself, I know many of those misconceptions are often times blatantly untrue or skewed. I want to discuss the benefits of couples counseling with the hope that you can someday be open to seeking out an unbiased, outside professional to aid you both in making your relationship strong again. [Click the link to see if you are in a loveless marriage...https://youtu.be/6F8jVKEdNz0 ] Here are just a few benefits of couples counseling and coaching: 1. Understand the Cause of the Problem Whether you participate in couples counseling or marriage counseling, depending on the status of your relationship, it is extremely beneficial because participating in this type of support helps you, as a couple, understand the cause of the problem and teaches you how to fix the root of the issues. 2. Practice Patience - Time to Heal Counseling, in general, allows you time to heal from the pain because it creates a step-by-step process of sifting through the muck and getting to the root of the solution. Most deep-rooted problems cannot be fixed in one day. 3. Learn Effective Communication - Apologizing and Reflective Listening When you working with a marriage counselor, therapist, or coach, you will learn how to effectively communicate with one another. It will drastically reduce the back-and-forth bickering and 4. Honest Conversation - Learning to be vulnerable and authentic. Discover things that are broken in the relationship instead of criticizing. Understand one another 5. Learn to forgive each other Hardest step to healing a broken relationship. We are all human and make mistakes 6. Learn to take ownership of your part of what is not working Work on being part of the solution. 7. Change your actions Contribute to solving existing problems and fixing the relationship
