First processing day of 2021 is in the books! Just some of the birds we did today. Excellent growth this year in our pastured chicken tractors! Cornish cross pullets averaged 7.9lbs dressed at 11 weeks. #homesteading #pasturedpoultry #farmfresh #supportlocal #naturallyraised #farmtotable
Wild roses, part of the beauty of the prairies. They love our pastures

Meat chicks 2021, batch #2 is here!
First hatch of 2021! Out of 11 fertile eggs came 10, healthy, vigorous chicks that hatched out quickly and easily! These are all sired by my Bielefelder roo "Steve". The brown ones are from either New Hampshire Red, or Rhode Island Red hens. And the black/grey ones came out of olive eggs. **5 of the brown ones are looking for a different address** More to come this weekend!
Spring is in the air! Easter means chicks, right?! First few eggs are locked down for hatch this weekend, and more are incubating for sequential hatch dates after that!
So it begins! Happy Spring!
Oh Steve, you are a gem!
Welcome aboard Tulip and Daisy!
