A Big Hello from Martine's Bistro! We hope this newsletter finds you safe and healthy! It has been a while since we've seen one another. Life as we have known it, isn't quite the same after we all hunkered down and did our best to keep everyone safe.... As the curve is flattening, Canada and BC are getting ready to open up for business again. What does this mean for Martine's Bistro? Of course, we will be thrilled to take your orders once our doors are opening again. When will that be? Although we are allowed to open as of Tuesday May 19, Martine's Bistro, after consultation with our staff, has decided NOT to open before Thursday June 4th. Even then we will only be open from Thursday to Monday. We want to make absolutely sure we have all the right protocols in place that are set by WorkSafeBC and the provincial government. The health and safety of our customers and staff is our primary concern. Social distancing remains a top priority. To accomplish this on our patio, we are working with the Town of Comox to expand the patio into our garden area. It is one of the many things we are looking into to serve you in a safe environment. When we open on June 4th, we are only allowed to have a maximum of fifty customers, so it will be essential to make reservations. In the mean time, Be kind, be calm and stay safe! To our valued customers, Thank-you so much for your continued patronage. We truly appreciate each one of you and look forward to making you dinner. At Martine’s Bistro we take your comfort and safety with regard to COVID-19 seriously. During these unprecedented global crises, please be assured we are following government and public health authority guidelines to increase our already strict food safety and public heath safety procedures and protocols. We will continue to san...itize all surfaces between sittings as well as POS terminals and telephones. Sanitization of door handles and bathroom fixtures of both public and staff areas will be done regularly. Beginning Tuesday, March 17th we will separate seating by the prescribed social separation distance for each party of guests which makes only half of the restaurant seats in use to a full capacity of 45 seats. We kindly request that anyone experiencing symptoms such as cough, fever and shortness of breath consider not joining us in an effort to keep the virus spread at bay. We are also encouraging guests to wash their hands before eating. We have assured our staff that they will be supported to stay at home should they develop any symptoms.
