SOOOO... this is a story of me helping a friend lease a listing that another one of my friends had on the market. Generally it's all about hanging out with my friends <3 haha My good friend Wendy had leased a fantastic unit with me for a few years in Wallace Emerson, just across the bridge from Roncy. She had a fantastic stint there, but then... cue covid. Wendy decided to move home with her parents for a bit and save/ invest her money... continuing to work. But her job wasn...'t work from home, and she commuted daily to Toronto. After a year, enough was enough, Wendy needed to be in Toronto. She gave me an extremely strict budget and criteria - we searched on and off market but nothing seemed to work. Wendy and I took a "pause" and eventually she made a decision to just move in with a friend for a little but because nothing had really come out that fit her criteria and the process seemed to be exhausting and without progress. We stopped... I consciously took a break from looking for a place for her to lease... and just like a break up... the second you stop looking for the right partner, mister/mrs right comes around. @alexandracote who heads up @thefoxteam.ca has been on @thereal_trreb 's government relations committee with me for 3 years now and we have become the best of friends. Remember my good friend and client @andrewtse ? Well at the beginning of this year he connected me with a coworker on his team at #stjosephshospital. Andrew had spoken highly of his experience with me to G, and G was literally following a very similar path as Andrew (in his first year at St.Joes as an Anesthesiologist). It was basically the same story as Andrew- G was looking for a condo with more than just one bedroom, and some outdoor space for him to chill in his time off.... It had to be a fairly quick walk/ bike to work, and he looooooved Sorauren park. I will spare you the details, but in the end, G settled in to the most adorable 1+1bed, 2 bath loft at 383 Sorauren (just like Andrew did in his first year in Toronto)... should we lay bets now that he will end up in the #robertwatsonlofts as well after this year? Now this is the story all about how 16 Parkhurst was flipped, turned upside down And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there I'll tell you how the Rose Team sold this house for the third time ever!... Ok So that was super cheesy, but here’s the thing I was raised in #Leaside. My mum had the height of her career in that neighbourhood and still to this day has streets with over 14 homes on them, filled with clients she put in them! There’s a lot of history there and I am grateful for it. My mum originally had the listing back in 2000, another client of hers bought it in 2010, and 11 years later, that same client was ready to sell. We had planned to bring the house to MLS and had started the process of preparing it to go to market. @be.neatstudio did an incredible job of packing the ENTIRE house and moving everything out. The plan was to paint, and stage with @mhthompsonhome (as always) but @davidandkateyoung had another idea. Katie is my work wife, she knows my business and I know hers. She caught wind of Parkhurst, and that was it- she decided it was going to be her client’s home come hell or high water And so it was, Katie’s clients purchased 16 Parkhurst off MLS! Everyone was ecstatic and I got to carry on my mother’s legacy of selling this property. I do hope in 10-11 years I can provide the buyer once again and continue the pattern!
