YOUNG LIVING ESSENTIAL OILS - A must-read about Vanilla!!! VANILLA OIL vs VANILLA EXTRACTS Have you received your Vanilla E/O?... I have, and I'm super excited because we've been asking Young Living for this one for about a decade! If you're thinking you know what this is... you probably don't! Hint: It is NOT Vanilla extract in any way, shape, or form! It's a common misconception that vanilla extract and vanilla oil are the same, but not true! As a matter of fact, most vanilla essential oil on the market isn't even vanilla essential oil. The commercial standard is to use chemical solvents to extract the essential oil. Those solvents are not only hazardous and impossible to fully remove, but also create an "absolute" versus an essential oil. Conversely, Vanilla extract is made from soaking the beans in an alcohol. ********************** Young Living's essential oil is made from vanilla planifolia -- an orchid that grows long vanilla bean pods in the northwestern region of Madagascar. The entire process takes about about five years or so! First, the vine has to mature and produce blossoms -- which takes about four years! The fifth year, blossoms come in abundance, but only last 24 hours and must be pollinated by hand within the day for the bean pod to grow. The D. Gary Young Research Institute (one of the largest essential oil research facilities in the world!) took the world's very best vanilla and spent a year researching how to extract it into a pure essential oil. This first-of-its-kind extraction method takes the vanilla and uses ethyl alcohol from French sugar beets to remove the oleoresin! Paired with fractionated coconut oil, this essential oil is super unique, one of its kind, and unmatched in quality and purity! ********************* So keep your Vanilla extract to flavor your tea, baked goods, anything you want to taste like vanilla. But, use your Vanilla E/O when you want your home to smell like vanilla or to wear on your skin in homemade perfumes and roller blends! Shout out to-Amanda Uribe & Jackie Wiley

Losing Weight Releases Toxins into Your Bloodstream (And How to Cope) Our fat tissue is a reservoir for many different types of lipophilic molecules. Ad...ipose tissue will hold onto and store fat soluble vitamins and nutrients (such as Vitamins A, D, E, and K). Unfortunately, because fat tissue is not a discriminator of good versus bad molecules it will also hold onto fat soluble toxic compounds. Of critical concern are organochlorine compounds such as pesticides and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). Many of these chlorinated toxins still persist in our environment today due to their resistance to chemical degradation and their lipophilic properties. Consequently, these toxic molecules accumulate in the fat tissues of our body and are extremely difficult to remove. When someone initiates a diet and starts to burn fat for energy, the fat-soluble toxins that are stored in our fat tissue are released into our circulation. These toxins must either be eliminated from our body through detoxification pathways through the liver, kidneys, GI tract, skin and lungs, or they must find a new home in our body, including the various organs of our body and our brain. Many of these toxins mimic estrogen or block androgen receptors, and subsequently result in significant hormone-disruption. Research has shown that losing a considerable amount of weight can precipitate other health conditions such as a compromised immune system, endocrine (hormonal) imbalances, and increased mortality. It is theorized that the cause of these negative health impacts is due to the rapid release of these fat-stored toxic compounds during weight loss. I constructed a graph (see image below) that shows the increase in concentration of 16 different chlorinated pesticides and PCBs in a study that was conducted on 39 obese individuals who were placed on a diet over a period of 15 weeks (data taken from Chevrier et al, 2000). The blue bars represent the concentration of each toxin before the weight loss period (normalized to 100%), and the adjacent orange bar represents the concentration of that particular toxin after the 15-week weight loss period. As can be seen, the levels of these toxic compounds considerably increased during the weight-loss period. This increased toxic load can wreak havoc on your body if you are trying to lose weight. So, what should you do to counteract this if you are actively losing weight? First, before beginning the process of losing weight, a person should ensure that they are on a natural diet and eating as organically as possible to minimize any extra toxic load from pesticides and artificial ingredients. In addition, personal care items such us lotions and shampoos, makeup, deodorants, etc should be switched over to natural plant-based products to reduce toxic load on the body. Also, household cleaners should be switched over to natural plant-based products. Young Living has a solution for each one of these categories. Second, weight loss should be gradual and steady over time. Your body’s detoxification systems will not be able to keep up with the toxic load if you are losing weight rapidly. Third, a person should introduce natural products and foods that will aid in detoxification and cleansing. This should not only be implemented during the period of weight loss, but also weeks leading up to the weight loss period and weeks after the weight loss is complete. This includes: Diets high in fiber to avoid reabsorption of toxins being eliminated through the GI tract. Drinking lots of water to aid in kidney excretion of toxin metabolites. Food dishes that include leafy greens, broccoli sprouts, garlic, ginger, cilantro, turmeric, black pepper and beets. Supplements that are rich in antioxidants such as Young Living’s Wolfberries and NingXia Red. As another potent source of antioxidant protection, I’ve designed 7 recipes that are rotated throughout the week which are optimized for antioxidant protection -> https://www.starfishscents.com/listing/789115903/ Supplements that are rich in chlorophyll/spirulina, such as Young Living’s Multigreens Capsules. Supplements that are designed specifically to promote cleaning and support the liver, such as Young Living’s Juvatone capsules. These capsules contain Choline, Dl-methionine, Inositol, Beet Root, Dandelion Root, L-cysteine, Alfalfa sprouts, Oregon Grape Root, Parsley leaf powder, Bee propolis, Echinacea purpurea root, and the following cleansing essential oils: (Lemon, German Chamomile, Geranium, Rosemary, Myrtle, and Blue Tansy) Blends of Essential Oils that are cleansing in nature, such as a blend of Helichrysum, Ledum, and Celery Seed Oil (Young Living’s blend Juvacleanse Vitality). By following the recommendations listed above, the toxic load on your body can be minimized during the weight loss period. Even if you aren’t planning on losing weight, the above recommendations when practiced as a lifestyle will help to minimize the toxic load on your body and the accumulation of toxins in your fat tissue in the first place.
