Happy New Year, Everyone! The registration period for my hosted-tour -- Musical Milestones 2019 -- is coming quickly to a close. Don't let this opportunity to pass by. Music, history, culture, travel, scenery, like-minded folks on site in some of Europe's greatest musical cities: Berlin, Leipzig, Dresden, Krakow, and Budapest. Flights, accmodation, two daily meals, three concerts, and all the context you could ask for from me as animateur and our guide on the ground, Mich...al Svarc. The price tag is just right at $5476 CDN. A treat for you or anyone who loves classical music and yearns to take your experiences to a new level. We leave May 13, return May 29th -- BUT registrations close January 30th. Check out our page, Musical Milestones, and join the tour.

Musical Milestones 07.01.2021

We are on the doorstop of 2019, and we are coming hard on the deadline to register for the tour -- January 30th is our absolute cut-off! It has been really fun looking into the concert life of these wonderful cities Musical Milestones will visit this coming May! There is both richness of visiting talent and depth of local talent. There is regional devotion and international exploration. There is new and current, and that music which we return to time and again (and for goo...d reason!). There are traditional presentations and new interpretation of familiar favorites. Really ... it is just as concert life should be: great music, fine performers, and opportunities for new discoveries. Kraków is buzzing while we are in town with local music, local musicians, and local colour. Several of Kraków's chamber orchestras are performing both days we are there, and both Chopin and Klazmer music is to be heard in the historical venues around town. However, the even that really caught my eye is a ballet interpretation of selections from Rossini's "La Cenerentola" with chorus and orchestra. I saw a fragment of something similar in Paris a number of years ago (Gluck's "Orfeo"), and it was very effective. The showstopper of our Poland segement, however, will be on stage back in Wrocaw (pronounced something like Vrotswof -- we'll have to practice!): a full, staged ballet production of Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring." What a treat! The plan is to select from among all the options the official three concerts for this tour, but knowing what out there might be inspiration for those who'd like to add extra content to the tour!
