Well, since we’re not socializing anyway at Christmas, it’s a fine time to get out the garlic munchies! Guaranteed to keep anyone a good 6 feet away from you. $20/ 500 ml jar Will post when garlic salt is ready!
Just for the record... this was December 6, and plus 7 outside And yes, I never posted anything about having planted in fall, never fear, all 34,000 got safely tucked under.
Harvest is nearly done, feels good to have it mostly out of the ground! I do not spend much time on this FB page, as I mostly wholesale to Sobeys and Safeway. I am still offering you my local customers my wholesale price at $15/ lb. Remember, this is not just natural, but CERTIFIED ORGANIC. 2020 has not been an easy year for us, but I am keeping my price as is for the rest of you who also have had a tight year.... Next year I am increasing crop size and price, so if you are interested in purchasing at this price, this will be the last year at $15/lb Shipping available Canada wide. See more

Ok people, I’ll venture to say if you’ve never ate pickled garlic, you’ve never truly lived. Besides being extremely tasty, it’s healthy! Keep those nasty flus away with a daily dose of..... pickled garlic $12 small jar, $18 large

Garlic, garlic everywhere! Finished harvest 1 week ago, feels nice to have it out of the ground
Fresh garlic is ready to be sent to Sobeys Brandon South It looks a little dirty, but that’s cuz it’s FRESH!
Fresh Garlic available now at Safeway in Brandon, Mb and Sobeys (west) also in Brandon. (South end Sobeys pending, will update on that ASAP)
You asked, I listened! I dug some oddball smallish garlic so you could get on with the pickles! Swing by Wiebe's Corner Store "Sinclair, MB" to grab some and see what other delicious goodies they have on the go!
I have plucked some garlic and by the looks of it, should be ready to harvest in about 2 weeks! Find it next month at Wiebe's Corner Store "Sinclair, MB" , Sobey’s West and Safeway in Brandon, Global Market Brandon, MB, and of course at my farm. I will post as soon as this is out of the ground, so you can get to making your cucumber pickles properly!
Garlic Scapes season! These delightful things are so much fun to use. Here’s some ideas! *Grill ‘em! *Chop and use as you would normal garlic cloves *Mince in blender with oil, and keep in a jar in the fridge. Use as minced garlic. The taste is very fresh and this lasts a year refrigerated.... *Chop and dehydrate. Add this to sea salt, and put in your salt grinder. Instant garlic salt seasoning! I must say this is a favourite way to use it, just be prepared for some heavy duty aromatherapy if you’re dehydrating it indoors $5/lb on farm pickup or available this week at Weibes Corner Store, Sinclair.
Slow but sure the garlic all gets a drink! Been really dry, rain is just teasing us
Well! The garlic is up and coming! Seems to be some winter kill, but was a pretty nasty winter, so it did well considering that Gonna go on a little holiday, and be back in June for weeding!
Well, how’s everyone’s garlic faring by now? Some of mine is finally starting to sprout, but still juicy inside Always amazing to me is the shelf life of these bulbs.. These ones that I’ve butchered are going into the crock pot with a nice batch of pinto beans to compliment them
Ok the verdict is in! I apologize that this pic looks nothing like the previously posted photogenic display of culinary expertise However..... here’s what happened.. I was smoking venison in the shed, and just threw the chicken in there too for a couple hours. (Dead, not alive.) Then I cut it up and cooked it in the following sauce. It is very green, garlicky, and spicy as I put in a lot of jalapeño seeds, (almost like salsa verde) Sooooo my pic would be the leftovers, ...which will be concocted into enchiladas. Sorry to get your hopes up about the crispy, sizzling chicken wings, but I’m not great at sticking to recipes! If you like your Mexican flavours, this ones for you See more
Ok so I haven’t posted anything since fall planting, I’ve noticed! Just because the garlic is mostly out of sight, it’s never out of mind. I have been noticing the recipe pop up a lot lately, I believe I’ll try it, although I don’t have wings.. just other various chicken parts. It has so many of my favourite things in it.. lime, jalapeños, cilantro, and 5 cloves of GARLIC! I will post the results.. meanwhile, I will take the chicken outa the freezer...
Whew! 17,000 plants into the ground! Just a layer of straw and they’re tucked in for the winter
Just my girl and I enjoying the wonderful fall air! Cracking garlic for planting!
As of September 21, the Garlic Patch is officially certified organic! Price is now $15/lb $14 if you order 10 or more pounds.... Thankyou, loyal customers!
