On Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) we commemorate the six million Jews that were murdered in the Holocaust. The theme of Masa’s 2021 Holocaust Remembrance Day is Taking Responsibility for Memory as an Act of Activism. This week, we offered a plethora of activities that allowed Fellows to ask complex questions, expand their perspectives, examine the responsibility that lies in memory and in turn, take significant action. Our Fellows participated in remembrance sess...ions, workshops with Yad Vashem and Zikaron Basalon, dialogues with Jewish educators from all over the world and a photo-workshop with the Jewish Museum in Berlin. Together we honor the memories of precious lives lost. @masaisrael See more

Great testimonial by Eliana Horvath, who is on our MITF Teaching Fellowship! "Coming to Israel with Masa was not an escape, but it was a journeyone of self-discovery and personal growththat ultimately taught me independence. While I did not have the same Israel experience other Fellows had in previous years, my time here has transformed me for the better. I helped children learn and succeed during a difficult time, forged a connection with my Jewish heritage, and gained a b...roader perspective about my future options" Masa Israel Teaching Fellows With Israel Experience

Shabbat Shalom and Hag Sameach! Tomorrow we are celebrating Mimouna. Mimouna is a festival originally celebrated by Moroccan Jews, falling each year at the end of the Passover holiday, Mimouna in Israel is a feast following the Passover period when many foods are prohibited. Mimouna is a 24 hour celebration and takes place immediately after the end of Passover. @masaisrael
