Masagana Flower Farm 07.06.2021

The collection I was working on in the last three months for @petitmagasinwpg_ is now out and the online market has wrapped up! Salamat for supporting me/my small businesses, the flower farm and @tintabymasagana. It was flattering to be a part of the stellar lineup of Canadian makers this past weekend. @megdoespottery , can't thank you enough for all your hard work and the opportunity to present my work through PM! All the best to you. SHOP UPDATE:... Athough, the major event coming up is Mother's Day, the shop still has lots of goodies that can be enjoyed by anyone who find their joy in plants and flowers. The global floral industry is struggling to keep up with the demand right now. I invite you to browse my webshop for an alternative present to your loved ones. Something they can keep forever. Free shipping still available for orders $100 and up, use code freeship at checkout. FARM UPDATE: I was juggling my time between natural dyeing and planting but my focus is now shifting to the seeds that still needs to be sown, the garden beds that needs prepping and the plants that are filling up my office space. My days are getting hectic as I juggle all aspects of running a business so, if you think that you or someone you know will be a great fit to be a part of Masagana team, please send them the job link in my bio. If you have questions about the job at all, please email [email protected]. I will be interviewing as potential candidates roll in. Link in bio to apply for the job or to browse and shop on my website. Now, let's get vaccinated and meet up outdoors in the summer!

Flower Press Kit is back in stock! Perfect gift for a plant parent, artist, flower enthusiast in your life. *hint, also a great mother's day gift ;) As you know, lumber prices have gone up so, to keep the cost down, the new stocks are slightly smaller, 9.5-by-12-in but still the same durable and easy to use kit. This new size makes it easier to carry around with you in your summer (responsible) foraging too! $91 no tax + shipping cost across Canada. Winnipeg pickup availab...le at $0 cost. Link in bio. This item ships in a box and includes: 9.5-by-12-in. pine wood flower press (2) boards Four (4) set of bolts + wing nuts Ten (10) chipboards How-to Instructions This kit is a special item for me as it was inspired by my husband's 20+ year old plant press (photo #7) that he made himself for his forestry research job in the past. We found it in the family cabin two years ago. It has stood the test of time and remained to be a sturdy piece to press and preserve flowers for many years to come. Swipe left to see how I used and what I've made with my pressed flowers this past year! Except the last photo, @oscardelarenta made it. To shop, link in bio. #pressedflowers #petitmagasinwpg

The shop is updated with my longest product listing to date! Enjoy browsing my Petit Magasin Spring Collection + other offerings re-stock. Habotai silk scarves (pictured here) are naturally tinted/dyed with the last dried flowers I saved from last year, all but one which was tinted with onion skins. Every single piece is one-of-a-kind. The rest of the collection are indigo dyed with patterns I learned from my Journey into Indigo classes at Maiwa School of Textiles. I was (and still am) juggling my time between sowing seeds and natural dyeing so the pieces available are very limited. I can't wait for you to browse the website this weekend and shop the pieces that make your heart skip a beat! k, I'll leave you to it. My garden, my redemption. I have a confession to make. I used to be a flower thief. This was in my pre-teen years back home in the Philippines. I used to make my way down to church every Saturday afternoon to attend catechism classes. I don't like showing up at church without flowers so, I would snap bougainvillea and santan (Ixora coccinea or jungle geranium) off the trees and shrubs from our neighbors. I know, how ironic. Stolen flowers to offer to t...he saints I pray forgiveness to. I don't practice Catholicism anymore but it doesn't mean I've lost faith or my spiritual practice. Gardening has become part of it. Tending a seasonal flower farm as my way of caring for the creation, a small patch of land stolen from Indigenous peoples. Once the garden is in full bloom, you will be welcome here. Here, you don't have to sneak in to enjoy stolen flowers. My garden, our redemption. Did gardens play a role in your life? Share in the comments or slide in my DM. I would love to hear your stories! My summer programming between @masaganaflowerfarm and @tintabymasagana will be first announced via newsletter. To hear about my experiential tours first hand, join my mailing list, link in bio. #SlowFlowersSociety #naturaldyes #MasaganaFlowerFarm #TintaByMasagana #botanicaldye #dyestudio #ManitobaCraft #ManitobaMaker #SlowCraft #SlowColors #Zone3Gardening #entrepinay #entrepinayship #ManitobaFlowerFarm #WomenInBusiness #PrairieGardens #entrepinay #entrepinayship See more
