Former owner Regan stopped in yesterday with some friends and on their way back, caught this little gar pike in front of the Mash (you can see our resort in the background). It’s crazy how we sit here and watch the fish jump out of water at this time of year. Thank you for sharing Regan! #mashkinonjeresort #westarm #garpike #lakenipissing

A beautiful day to be on water and Ken’s catch looks a lot bigger than 47 inches that’s one huge musky! Wonder if it’s the one that got away from our son-in-law? #mashkinonjeresort #lakenipissing #westarm #muskyfishing #lifeisgood

More than just fishing. Guests can stay at the Mash and explore a variety of wetland habitats at the Mashkinonje Provincial Park. We finally got a chance to walk a third of the park and it exceeded our expectations. #mashkinonjeresort #mashkinonjeprovincialpark #mothernature #wetlands #hiking #trails

Our baby girl Sydney is tired after another busy day at the Mash getting ready for opening season... unless we are kept in lockdown!

We apologize to those trying to contact us via telephone. Rogers has somehow disconnected my mobile phone in the process of porting and adding the Mashkinonje business number as a second line. We've been working on this transition since mid April. Please contact us via email at [email protected] until the issue is rectified. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Under new ownership: We, Lise Ledoux originally from Astorville and Andrew Bridgman originally from Montreal, met in 2012 in Toronto. In 2014 we moved to the Niagara region and got married in 2017. Andrew is currently a realtor and Lise is nearing retirement. Wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of urban life, we decided owning and operating a resort in this area was the ideal way to ease into retirement and a new phase in our lives. We feel that Mashkinonje Resort, formerly Mashkinonje Lodge, is a perfect fit for us given its proximity to Lise’s family and our history and experience in the hospitality industry. We look forward to meeting current and future customers.

Week #8,9,10,11 at Mashkinonje Lodge, Paradise Cove Cottages & Lake Nipissing Charters. So many awesome groups these past few weeks! Can’t believe it’s already August. Soon the season will be winding down but the best fishing’s still ahead of us;). Thanks everyone for coming!

Mashkinonje Resort 20.09.2020

Week #7 @ Mashkinonje Lodge, Paradise Cove Cottages and Lake Nipissing Charters - awesome week and thanks to all of our guests. So happy we could provide a refuge during these tough times. For many of our customers this is the first time they could escape from isolation and enjoy Mother Nature and some awesome fishing at its finest! Thanks all for booking in and can’t wait to see you again soon!

Mashkinonje Resort 16.09.2020

Week #5 and #6 @ Mashkinonje Lodge - so great to see so many regulars returning as well as new customers. Fishing was great last couple of weeks and more to come! Thanks everyone!

Mashkinonje Resort 08.09.2020

Week #4 @ Mashkinonje Lodge, Paradise Cove Cottages & Lake Nipissing Charters. After a slow start to the season with cold temperatures the fishing was awesome this week. Lots of big Walleye and Pike being caught by customers. Congratulations to Jack Marcotte for landing his new PB on yesterday's guide using a RAPALA Rip Stop. I'm a huge fan of slash baits for pike and the proof is in the pudding with another tank landed. This one a beautiful and thick 38" beast! She was safely released (as are all big fish on our guides) to be caught another day. There's no hiding size! Soak it in Jack, might be your biggest "Jack" ever;)! #MashkinonjeLodge, #ParadiseCoveCottages, #LakeNipssingCharters

Week #3 at Mashkinonje Lodge, Paradise Cove Cottages and Lake Nipissing Charters - And just happy to be open! We’d like to remind all of our customers that we’ve taken every precaution we can think of to make our properties a safe retreat from the chaos of the city during this pandemic. Our cottages are isolated and well spaced out, allowing you to keep your distance from others. We have increased our cleaning staff and cleaning protocols in effort to insure every surface is severely disinfected between changeovers. Public gathering areas have been closed and hand sanitization stations (thanks Kev) have been placed around the property. Looking forward to seeing you this season. Much thanks to this weeks guests and more to come!

Mashkinonje Resort 15.08.2020

OPEN FOR BUSINESS (OFFICIALLY)!!!! What a roller coaster ride. It seems as though the lodge industry had slipped through the cracks of government intervention during this pandemic with regards to aid packages and the acknowledgment of our rights as an industry in general. We’ve experienced two months of shaky, misleading and contradictory information from all levels of government. The end result was 3 weeks of lost revenues for what we feel was prompted by completely irratio...nal policy making. But hey, that’s a discussion for another day! We can’t even begin to describe how grateful we are to be open again. Looking forward to an amazing season! Thanks to Vic Fidelli for fighting for us northerners and an even bigger thanks to our customers for supporting our lodge!

Mashkinonje Resort 01.08.2020

We have another update on lodge and cottage rental openings that is truly mind blowing! We made several phone calls to hotels in the area regarding their policies on taking guests. We were told that it was business as usual although pools and communal areas would be closed. Groups could also not exceed 5 non family members. We were also told (and encouraged) to bring our boat as they have ample parking for boats/trailers on premise, making it possible to go fishing in the ...area. So to all of our customers... you are welcome to book in at a crowded local hotel with shared hallways, elevators, lobbies, etc. You can then trailer your boat over to our secluded property where you can then launch your boat and go fishing for the day, after which you will then be required to return to the crowded hotel. You CAN NOT however stay in one of our professional cleaned, self isolated cottage rentals on site! Sorry, safety first!

Mashkinonje Resort 12.07.2020

Now I’m really confused... All of the local hotel chains and even Deerhurst resort have announced reopening yet somehow we have been told NOT to reopen. We offer self isolated individual cottages while these hotels and resorts offer attached rooms, shared hallways, elevators, etc. Making us a much safer option. This makes absolutely no sense! Please get your act together government! We have continued to call our local MP and the Premiers office with not even a response. If anyone out there can help please do!

Mashkinonje Resort 07.07.2020

Still no word from our government as to when we can open. Large businesses such as Home Depot, Canadian Tire, etc. As well as public parks and camp grounds are open for business and packed with people. Our business however (and the lodging industry as a whole) who offer self isolated cottages in the middle of nowhere have been told to stay closed with almost no financial aid resulting in massive losses and many bankruptcies. We’ve emailed and called our local MP’s as well ...as the Premiers office to plead our case at least half a dozen times with no response! It seems as though our government is more concerned with big business and the preservation of their own government than the private industries who employ them. The role of government institutions are to serve and support private industry (and society as a whole) in their creative endeavour to generate GDP and wealth for our country. Yet somehow prioritize have flipped to insuring the preservation of the very institutions who serve us while the entrupeners and businesses who that pay their wages through tax dollars are being hung out to dry. Government should not take precedence over private industry and this is what’s happening. Very troubling!

Mashkinonje Resort 17.06.2020

Week #1 at Mashkinonje Lodge - Whats normally a big weekend for us and our guests has become erringly silent. The government has forced us to close while offering little to no support despite the fact that we are able to offer totally self equipped, self isolated cottages in the middle of nowhere. I have to say if there are any business sectors equipped to offer a Covid-19 safe experience, ours is one of them. Meanwhile it’s somehow acceptable in their opinion for thousands of people to congregate in public parks, peruse through Home Depots and cram into trailer parks (to name only a few examples!). This kind of reckless and arbitrary decision making will bankrupt thousands of businesses.

Mashkinonje Resort 29.05.2020

Opening Day (of fishing not customers) at Mashkinonje, which also means my Facebook account comes out of hibernation. Normally this is a big weekend for us and our customers but sadly the government still isn’t allowing us to open, despite the fact that our cottages are completely isolated allowing for a safe vacation. On the bright side it’s the first opening weekend where I wasn’t guiding and could fish with my son Russell. Fishing was slow today but we managed a decent pike or two. Myself and Goldie will be in touch with you all when the government announces our opening day. Fingers crossed soon!!!

Mashkinonje Resort 14.05.2020

Week #22 at Mashkinonje Lodge and Lake Nipissing Charters. The fall bite is on with some absolute trophy fish! Game on and more to come! These fish are getting bellies and its only going to get better!

Mashkinonje Resort 02.05.2020

Week #20 closes at Mashkinonje Lodge and Lake Nipissing Charters! Canadian Thanksgiving is just around the corner and the fall bite is on with just 8 weeks to go until fishing season officially closes on Nipissing for 2019! (provided we don’t ice up first!) The most exciting time of year for Musky fishing is still a head of us and We still have availability for accommodations and guiding for this amazing time of year. Call or PM us for availability!

Mashkinonje Resort 25.04.2020

Two days of filming with Italo and Canadian Sport Fishing and we completed the show which isn’t always easy. Day one we nailed the smallies and day two, a nice Ski in terrible conditions (25k NE winds) to close the show. Great job crew! This is our fourth episode together and myself and Goldie enjoyed filming and hanging out with you like family once again. great food, fishing and friends, The 3 F’s! This episode will air winter/spring of 2020. Can’t wait until 2021 for our next show! Thanks Italo and Canadian Sport Fishing . Looking forward to saltwater fishing with you in Florida this November!

Mashkinonje Resort 13.04.2020

We’d like to welcome back the legendary Italo Labignan and Canadian Sport Fishing for our fourth episode since 2014! Day one was a success with more to come! Tight lines!

Mashkinonje Resort 25.03.2020

Week#16 wraps up summer at Mashkinonje Lodge and Lake Nipissing Chatters. Hard to believe thanksgiving is just around the corner. Some of the most exciting fishing (particularly Musky) is still ahead of us!

Mashkinonje Resort 07.03.2020

Another great day on the water with good friend and customer Owen Seaman. Also a surprise appearance by celebrity guest, the godfather of Nipissing Musky Fishy himself... Danny Colomby! Got our fish but had to grind for it!

Mashkinonje Resort 27.02.2020

Lubowski got bit again! Nice fish Owen Seaman;).

Mashkinonje Resort 09.02.2020

Week #11 @ Mashkinonje Lodge and Lake Nipissing Charters - Awesome week everyone and see you next year. Congratulations to Jean Giguere and Rob Jansen for landing this nipissing white whale during our Wednesday guide. Jean joins the short list of people who reach the 50 club first time Musky fishing. Easy, right Jean;).

Mashkinonje Resort 21.01.2020

Week #10 @ Mashkinonje Lodge and Lake Nipissing Charters Awesome week with mostly repeat customers and some newbies. Had rain during our weekly fish fry but made the best of it! Also had some great fishing this week. I had the opportunity of guiding a couple of awesome groups including the Bill Bingman group from Ohio. Their week concluded with 10 Muskies boated (largest a 51"!). Good Musky anglers make it easy! Congratulations on an unbelievable week guys! Thanks to all of our guests for coming and look forward to seeing you again next year!
