OMAR ALFAROOQ ISLAMIC FOUNDATION Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah, Alhamdulillah, the masjid has reopened since last Friday. However, we have a communique from Public Health Services to strictly observe the Covid-19 safety guidelines. Failure to observe them may result in our Masjid being subject to financial penalties in addition to further closure orders. ... It is our religious obligation to the community and to the society at large with whom we live to abide by these regulations; they are for the safety of public. There are hand sanitizers installed at the entrance and exit points to the masjid, please use them while entering and leaving the masjid. Also, please read and abide by the regulations as stated in the attached pictures. Failure to follow these rules may result in no-entry to the masjid. Regrettably, there was an incident at the masjid on the first day we reopened the masjid last Jumu'ah, September 18th. When the maximum number of people allowed in the masjid reached 50, the organizers locked the gates. However, someone jumped over the fence and opened the gate lock and let everyone outside come in; this resulted in exceeding the number of people allowed. This behavior is not befitting of Muslims; such behaviour exposes the masjid to hardship and unwanted consequences. JazakumAllahu khairan, Masjid Administration. If you wish to attend, please practice the following: -Keep 6 feet distance always (including during salah) Tape markers are in place on the carpets in the masjid. -Come with Wudhu (use washrooms at home) -Bring your own prayer mat (Sajjadah) -Use sanitizer upon entering and leaving dispensers are at the doors of the masjid. -Wear Masks -Depart after Salah (pray sunnah at home) -Avoid socializing -If sick or have symptoms you should not enter the premises of the Masjid -If the need to sneeze or cough arises make sure to cover your mouth and nose using your elbow and wash afterwards immediately. -Children under the age of maturity/puberty should be kept at home -Follow any other safety measures the administration asks of you On a First come first served basis...the Masjid will be locked to not exceed the current allowed number on gatherings. Please do not jump the fence and force open the gate. We can operate on the measures; we ask Allah to forgive us and to ease the situation and relieve us from trials and pandemics. And we pray that our Masjid be opened fully without restrictions soon inshaAllah, Aameen. We look forward to seeing you in the masjid inshaAllah. Masjid Administration.

Masjid Omar AlFarooq Closure due to Covid-19: Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah, With great sorrow we inform you that Masjid Omar will be closed for all congregational prayers including Friday (Jumuah) until further notice.... We ask everyone who attended the masjid between August 21st to August 25th to read the letter from Medical Health Officer-Vancouver Coastal Health, attached below. We will use this time to disinfect and thorough clean the Masjid and implement the guidelines on safe operation set out for us inshaAllah. We beg Allah to remove this calamity from all of us and bless us all with good health and safety of His infinite Mercy, aameen. OTHMAN BIN AFFAN ISLAMIC SOCIETY MASJID OMAR AL-FAROOQ Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah, We are glad to announce that Masjid Omar will hold Eid prayers at the Masjid. However, due to the Covid 19 pandemic still upon us, the prayers will be conducted with all provincial health authority's guidelines.... We kindly ask that everyone co-operate with the volunteers to assist in making sure that all goes well and in an orderly fashion, inshaAllah. Please do not insist on entry if we are packed to capacity. There will be two (2) Eid prayers one after the other. Attendance is on a first come, first in basis.
