The 21st of Ramadan is when Amir al-Mumineen, Ali b. Abi Talib was martyred during the fajr prayer when he was performing prostration to Allah. His first day in... the dunya was spent in the Ka’bah as he was born inside the Ka’bah, and his final day was also spent in Allah’s House during his martyrdom! Ramadan is known as the month of the Quran. The Quran always remembers and reveres Ali b. Abi Talib. Our Prophet, (peace be upon him and his family), said in an authentic narration, I left behind for you the Quran and my Ahlulbayt. If you firmly hold on to both of them then you will never ever be misguided! (Paraphrased). Allah protect us at all times from misguidance! Amin.

Today I literally won the lottery. A vaccine lottery. I feel incredibly blessed and fortunate to have received the #covidvaccine2020. It has been a harrowing ex...perience on the front lines and today, I have a new sense of hope and renewed resolve that myself, my patients and my family are going to better protected than I could have said only 24 hours ago. I am euphoric, relieved and indescribably grateful for science and what it does to make this world a safer, better place. One thing that will not change is my steadfastness in every habit that will stave off this wretched virus no matter what. I will continue to mask everywhere, limit my contacts, stay home whenever I can and make life as simple as possible. I will never relinquish that until this pandemic has ended. And there's a few more shots on goal to go yet. Let's not waste even one. #DropTheNeedle on #Covid19 #ShotintheArm

A Prayer To Start This Friday Ya Allah, Ya Latif, You Who Are Most Gentle, Most Kind - help us through this blessed day of Jummah to know ourselves better. He...lp us through this blessed day to know our strengths and to live by them. To know our character and how to increase it. To know our pains and how to heal them. To know our value and how to share it. To know our blessings and how to be grateful for them. To know our wants and to see where they conflict with our needs. To know our shortcomings and how to confront and defeat them. To know how to really forgive all those who have wronged us and actually forgive them. To know how to seek forgiveness from those that we have wronged, and to then go out and seek it. To know what charity is by being generous with our wealth and our time. To know what integrity is by being honest and truthful. And to know what goodness is by extending our hands without qualification to all those who are in need. Help us through this blessed day to know who it is that we are and not let the people we are today be afraid any longer to meet the people we can be tomorrow. And through this blessed day, help us to know You and Your Mercy, to know You and Your Love. Make us those who benefit from the unique blessings of this day of Jummah and let it not end without each one of us doing something good for someone else and for ourselves. Protect us always from hearts that are not humble, tongues that are not wise and eyes that have forgotten how to cry. Forgive us for our shortcomings and guide and bless us all. Ameen. have a beautiful and blessed Friday. I love each of you and am carrying you in my heart's prayers throughout this day.
