This is your reminder to take time out of your day to do your stretches. We are all at home and possibly moving less so make sure you are stretching daily to maintain flexibility and mobility. When stretching remember: 1. Take your time. Hold your stretches for as long as you need to feel the muscles start to relax and stretch. ... 2. Breathe. Your muscles will naturally relax a bit more with every exhale, so hold your stretches for 5-6 deep breaths. 3. Acknowledge the difference between discomfort and pain. Stretching shouldn't hurt but you should feel a pull and you should feel something. Stretch until you feel the pull and try to relax into the stretch. If you feel pain release the stretch to the point that you just feel a pull. 4. Repeat often. If you are sitting for most of the day try to stretch for a few minutes a few times a day.
I am pleased to inform you that I will remain open for appointments. Massage Therapy is a regulated health proffession in Ontario, and is not currently affected by the stay at home order announced today. If you are in pain, and in need of treatment, I am here for your health care needs. The health and safety of my clients and myself is extremely important to me, and I continue to follow all health and safety guidelines set out by the government of Ontario and the College of M...assage Therapists of Ontario. If you have any questions regarding Massage Therapy and Covid-19 please reach out to me and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have. If you are experiencing any symptoms related to Covid-19 (even mild ones) or are feeling unwell at all, please cancel your appointment and rebook when you are well. Sincerely, Sandra Borg-Sandhu RMT
Check out my stories for some great information about pain science. Use this deep breathing exercise to help with your pain. Using deep breathing techniques during your next massage treatment provides extra benefits, and can help create new neural pathways to naturally reduce pain over time.
Each year, Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world celebrate Diwali. The festival symbolizes new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil, and light over darkness. This year we celebrate differently but the hope for brighter future is needed more than ever. Stay home, stay healthy, and Happy Diwali to everyone.

Do you have any questions about the new Massage Therapy Guidelines in Ontario? Feel free to message me, I will answer any questions you may have.
There have been some big changes around here! I am starting a slow and gradual re-open next week. If you are in pain and require treatment please message me directly to set up an appointment. Please read through the new policies and procedures carefully and let me know if you have any questions. Sadly I am no longer providing treatments at Calm Waters Day Spa in Bolton (I will miss them dearly). Going forward I will only be providing treatment at my home office. Thank you to all of my clients and previous coworkers for all of the support during this crazy time.
#blacktuesday We must all educate ourselves on how to propel positive change.
COVID 19 & Massage Therapy Update - May 31, 2020 First of all I would like to thank all my valued clients for their patience and support over the last two months. These have been confusing times and I would like to clarify as much as I can about the announcement made last week and how it pertains to my own Massage Therapy practice. On Wednesday, May 27th the Ontario Government and the Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health have provided a new directive for Regulated Health P...Continue reading
Thank you to all of my clients for the support you have given me during this very uncertain time. This week, new directives were given to RMTs in Ontario (please see previous post). I want you to know that I have been working diligently on preparing to follow the new guidelines. There is a lot of work that still needs to be done. I am very eager to get back to work in the safest way possible. Please continue to be patient, and I will post updates as soon as they are avai...lable. Thank you and stay safe. Sandra Borg-Sandhu RMT

Stretch of the day. Another stretch of the sternocleidomastoid muscle or SCM. This stretch focuses on the part of the muscle that is responsible for rotation of the head/neck. #massagetherapist #massagetherapybysandra #massagetherapylife #rmtinbolton #rmt
Stretch of the day. The Sternocleidomastoid muscle is responsible for rotation and flexion of the neck. Trigger points in this muscle can cause neck stiffness, dizziness, ringing in the ears, and headaches. Good posture along with regular stretching of this muscle can help alleviate these symptoms. Have you stretched today? @ Brampton, Ontario

In its most basic form, stretching is a natural and instinctive activity; it is performed by humans and many other animals. Stretching often occurs instinctively after waking from sleep, after long periods of inactivity, or after exiting confined spaces and areas. Have you stretched today?
