Neon Day Geckos -Phelsuma klemmeri was a recent addition to our breeding project and we are already very excited about it. Usually, breeding project does not pan out immediately. It takes time to set up animals, quarantine, get them comfortable in new environment before you can attempt breeding. We are lucky in the fact that the group we brought from Europe has settled well and females started to lay eggs already. It was a bit of a teaser in our newsletter sent out on Wednesday, where we included pictures of Neon Day Geckos along the other Madagascar animals. We most likely will not have them on our list until next generation hatches out. It is however a good think to look forward to. #geckos #daygeckos #massasaugaimports #massasaugaimportsbreeding #neondaygeckos #phelsuma #phelsumaklemmeri #Geckosoninstagram #yellowheaddaygecko

Spring is a time when lots of animals get into breeding mode. With days getting longer and barometric pressure dropping during spring rains, is enough of a drive to get our frogs going. To our surprise we have found a bunch of eggs laid by our Niger Forest Big Eye Tree Frogs - Leptopelis milsoni. This species lays eggs on land under bark or between roots and spring floods carry hatched tadpoles to deeper water. This is why you see eggs on moss, waiting for the embryos to de...velop and tell us when to flood the whole thing and get tadpoles. This is frog that does not appear often on availability lists and is very pretty, so we hope we can put another feather into our hut if we can successfully raise tadpoles to small froglets. #massasaugaimports #massasasaugaimportsbreeding #frogbreeding #leptopelis #leptopelismilsoni #frogeggs #nigerforestfrog #frogsoninstagram #frogsofinstagram See more

Karsten Girdled Lizard (Zonosaurus karsteni) is an attractive lizard from Plated Lizard family (Gerrhosauridae) and is a distant cousin to popular Ornate Plated Lizard or Sudan Plated Lizard. It is available for purchase on our website. They live in similar environment and are relatively easy to look after. Keeping couple animals in a single tank is possible, as long as they are not males, that can be territorial in small enclosures. Diet consists of variety of feeder insects properly supplemented. This species is not recommended for younger keepers as it is a bit shy and skittish. Peter's Banded Skinks (Scincopus fasciatus) are one of the most attractive skinks available in the hobby today. They are desert species living in arid regions of sub-Saharan Africa. While there are few reports of captive breeding of this fascinating lizard, most specimens available are field collected animals. Acclimation is critical in successful establishing of that species. Animals arriving from Africa are usually dehydrated, stressed and parasitized. We have received a la...rge group some time ago and we are close to release our first skinks for purchase. Animals you will receive will be dewormed and are proven to feed on superworms and giant mealworms. This species is invisible during day hiding in deep substrate, but emerges at night to forage. Its contrasting bright yellow and black markings are stunning. Those large black eyes are probably my favourite. Initially it has been reported this species being a livebearer, but those few captive breeding attempts reveal that lizard lays eggs. If you would be interested to buy one of them, please click notify me upon availability. Once we release them for sale, you be the first one to know. Baby Jeweled Lacertas (Timon lepidus)are hatching! We have started another season of breeding Jeweled Lacertas. They actually started to hatch some time ago, but since we are dealing with several clutches, they keep on hatching. First CB animals of 2021 have grown to about 5-6 inches and are now available for purchase from our website. This species is the largest lacertid found in Europe. very attractively marked - hence the name - males look absolutely spectacular in their ...breeding colours. This species has been very popular and because breeding in captivity still remains limited, it commends a high prices. All animals available are bred at our facility. Later this year, we plan adding a melanistic line that would produce pure black specimens. These lizards are very smart and inquisitive. There is always something happening in a tank where they are. You will never be bored watching them do lizard things, lol. Pictured here is a one of the younglings available for purchase!
