On Friday, April 9th, 2021, for the first time since 1979, La Soufriere volcano erupted on the beautiful Caribbean island of St. Vincent. Today, after yet anoth...er eruption, hot gas, ash, and lava rocks are now careening down the side of the volcano destroying everything in their path. Air quality is poor due to the ash and volcanic rock that continue to shower down on the area. Shortages of water, food, and PPE are a real concern for everyone on the island as homes have been destroyed, families have been displaced and resources become scarceall while the fight against covid-19 continues. This week, the menu looks a little different. Instead of doing the cooking, I’m asking if you can help feed my family’s island with non-perishable food items, bottled water, masks and clothing. This Saturday, April 17th, St. Paul’s Anglican Church is holding a relief drive. If you can’t make it there, I will be collecting donations at my DDO pick-up location ALL DAY SATURDAY.
