We are experts in attic mold remediation and that’s why we are receiving calls from clients who want help to deal with these types of situations. Last week we got a call from a client located in the New Westminster area, they needed to have the entire attic treated for mold and mildew and we took on the project. At the entrance we put on our booties and we laid drop cloths across the area rug of the living room and again at the bedroom. We set up a containment at the door ac...cess to the bathroom from the bedroom. We introduced a light, positive pressure of clean air from the living space into the attic space to keep any potential airborne spores out of the living space. The access to the attic was above a small sink in the bathroom beside the bedroom. There was a false ceiling and a second ceiling that had piping running between the two so access was very limited and tight. The attic had a number of areas that were affected by mold growth and had mildew hazing covering more area than the mold. Attention to detail is achieved by a thorough set up of both planking so we don’t go through your ceiling, and lighting, as without a flood of kiggting you are guaranteed to miss spots After initial HEPA vacuum and the initial application we make sure to allow 24 hours to come back, re-suit up and do an inspection with further touch-ups - if needed. We then clear out the equipment and supplies into the contained area and pull back the planking and lighting from the furthest point and start the process of raking the blown-in cellulose insulation to level it. Once that is completed we HEPA vacuum the planks prior to their removal out of the containment area to be taken back to storage to be treated for disinfection before re-use. As mentioned before it’s always a pleasure to show you the final results and our setups to run the job in the best and safest way possible.
