LIGHT SET UP BELOW ------- As I promised, here's the light set up I recently used. It's a simple 3 light set up, The YN560IV speedlite as my key light (the brightest light on my face), the ring light as a hairlight (the small but very effective light by my left ear), and a cheap video light in the back to splash on the wooden background for that prime look. Tip: To take a lowkey photo without a black background, place your subject and light as far away from the background... as possible and use a honeycomb grid on your softbox to direct the light only on your subject. Have a dark carpet to avoid reflection if possible Let me know in the comments if you would like to see a video with a full breakdown on how you can take shots like this and more with affordable equipment. Share share share!...please...share Thanks!
Keep a look out for the full lighting setup we used on this shoot. I'll drop that soon
