Please Read Carefully About the Fundraiser. My son has been suffering from deadly blood cancer since he was 5 years old. This is the third time that he has relapsed in 3 years. An urgent Bone Marrow Transplant is his only chance at survival this time. Soham has been a fighter throughout and stayed strong even when we couldn’t. It has been a very tough time for the whole family. Our son has lost his happiness to cancer. His disease has stolen his childhood from him. He should... be attending school, making friends, going out to play at this age. But instead, he is forced to stay at home in pain. He has become weak after having gone through so much chemotherapy and medication. In 2014 Soham was first diagnosed with Leukaemia, a type of blood cancer which is when his treatment started. He was put on medication and maintenance therapy till March 2017. Then in April 2017, after his treatment was completed, he started complaining of having trouble speaking and swallowing. We took him to the doctors and they told us that he had bilateral facial nerve palsy, or face paralysis and that his cancer was back. After the completion of the treatment this time, just as things had started to look up again, in April 2018, his cancer relapsed for the second time. The usual treatment did not work this time. The doctors told us that because the cancer was recurrent, he needed an urgent Bone Marrow Transplant. He emphasised on the transplant being our only chance at saving his life. My son developed 3rd isolated CNS relapse in 2019 and was treated periodical intrathecal chemotherapies. My son was relatively alright till march 2020 and further intrathecal therapy were stopped in view of lockdown. It will cost Rs 27 Lakh for the whole procedure and we cannot afford it. All of our life savings went into his treatment so far. I work in the private sector and this amount is huge. I have no other way to raise funds to save my son’s life. I feel helpless. This transplant is the only way to save my son’s life. He deserves to have a healthy, happy life. DID YOU KNOW THAT After chemo (and immunotherapy) treatment, it's true that it can take years until you feel alive again... with side effects of chemo and rad...iation you will never be 100 % because your immune system is weak. Ruins marriages, family and friends. Because you're not the same again after cancer and treatments. In the hardest moments you know who your real friends are or people who appreciate you. Unfortunately, like most friendships, fb friends will leave you in the middle of a story. They want a post to like for the story, but they don't really read your message when they see it is long. More than half have stopped reading. Someone may have already gone to the next post in newsfeed. I have decided to publish this post in support of close family, friends and relatives who have fought this horrible disease. Now I'm focusing on those who take the time to read this post to the end... a little test, just to see who reads and who shares without reading. Cancer is a very aggressive and destructive enemy of our bodies. Even after treatment, the body is devastated. It's a very long process. I would like to know who I can count on and who takes the time and reads this. When you have finished this, write done in the comments. Sadly we are facing the illness of the century. Unlike others, this little petition will not have the effect of removing friends from my list.
