They will illustrate the stress continuum model and outline the steps of stress first aid. Dr. Joanna Cheek is a psychiatrist and Clinical Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine at UBC. She specializes in psychotherapy with people who have experienced trauma. She is a meditation teacher and co-created the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Skills group, teaching family doctors to facilitate mental health groups, which has served over 8000 people in BC and is expanding across the province. She is currently expanding this program to offer Raising Resilient Kids classes for parents.
