The University of Waterloo Mathematics Endowment Fund (MEF) is holding a referendum from Wednesday, March 31, 2021 @ 12:00 AM EST to Thursday, April 1, 2021 @ 11:59 PM EST on a constitutional amendment regarding the composition and membership of the Funding Council and Board of Directors. The purpose of this amendment is to update MEF's Constitution to reflect the current state of the Mathematics undergraduate education at the University of Waterloo. Specifically, with the fo...rmation (and discontinuation) of different programs and changes to the faculty’s organizational structure, MEF would like to have its structure to be more reflective of the student population now and robust to potential changes in the future. Notably, we would like to bring the allocation of Funding Council seats by 'programs', rather than 'departments' as not all undergraduate Math programs (i.e. Math/Business programs) fall under a faculty department and the discontinuation of seats representative of the St. Jerome's University, in aligning with the St. Jerome’s University-Faculty of Mathematics Consolidation Agreement of 2014. If you are an undergraduate Mathematics student and would like more details on the amendment and to vote, visit https://vote.wusa.ca/ before Thursday, April 1, 2021 @ 11:59 PM EST! P.S. While voting on our constitutional amendment, consider taking part in Mathematics Society's Spring 2021 General Election being held at the same time!

In fact, MEF believes it is irrational that we even cannot collect termly contributions from Math students in units of (the money system restricts us unfortunately ).
