The reviews we get from parents and teachers are humbling and motivating. But the reviews we get from students we teach, just totally kicks ass... For those of you who do not appreciate fine art, it is clearly a picture of a person passionately singing I love Mathnasium
On the one year anniversary of our planned physical grand opening, we still have not physically opened...still standing... Our recent radio interview with CBC Radio Ash Noureldin
just gonna... leave this here...
Yes. This is a squirrel. His name is Mr. Wilbur. What does Mr. Wilbur have to do with Math? Apparently, quite a lot. We end up talking with many parents about Mr. Wilbur every day. ... Parents often blame Mr. Wilbur for their child’s lack of focus. It’s alleged that whenever he shows up, someone yells squirrel, and the wheels instantly come off the focus bus. Some say it’s because of his posh hat. Some say it’s because he has nothing better to do and needs to get a job. Even though it is a pretty great hat, we’re actually not completely sold on the lack of focus being entirely Mr. Wilbur’s fault, although yes he’s not completely innocent. In fact, what we are finding more and more with our students is that their ability to focus with us is more connected to : -Being met where they actually are at -A learning plan that is designed for them, not just their grade level -Showing us how they think so we can teach them in ways that apply to how they think -Us being fun, interactive, engaging and pretty cool Hit the link for more info if you want to try and prove us wrong. And in the meantime, let’s try to take it easy on Mr. Wilbur He just wants to fit in and be cool like us. https://www.mathnasium.ca/northregina
The number of people who reach out to tell us their kids hate math is surprising. What isn’t surprising though, is why. We have a theory here and so far, it has proven to be pretty accurate. ** Shocker Alert ** Kids who say they hate math, actually do not hate math. It’s just not true. They do however hate not understanding it. That, is very true. And it’s actually not a kid thing. It’s a human thing. We humans generally tend to enjoy and gravitate towards what we are ...good at. We don’t enjoy, and will tend to turn away from the things that we are not good at. Unfortunately, turning away from Math doesn’t serve kids in the short term, or the long term. It doesn’t really matter what they want to be when they grow up; whether it’s a brain surgeon, an architect, or own their own plumbing business. Math is going to follow them wherever they go. So solving this feeling doesn’t occur by throwing more painful math at them that they already don’t understand. That’s just going to make it worse. Where they are supposed to be at, is irrelevant. Solving this is going to occur by meeting them where they actually are at. Learn more about how we determine with laser precision, where every individual kid is at. https://www.mathnasium.ca/northregina See more

October 5th marks World Teachers Day. To celebrate this, we want to award a teacher in the YQR a $200 dining experience at The Keg Steakhouse. So we need your help again! These are crazy times for teachers, and we want to hear about all the warriors out there who are absolutely killing it with your kids, but please also share why with us. So tag your superhero teacher and let us know what school! All names will be entered to win and we will announce the winner Monday!
