Community Christmas Dinner For several years, Our community has taken part in a Community Christmas Dinner, which is held on December 25th. It was intended to give those that were either alone, shut ins, financially challenged and several other reasons a time to gather with others to be part of community and have Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings, as well as Christmas Baskets were handed out. This was completely free to the participants and was completely donated by com...munity businesses, organizations and volunteers. This year, as many of you know, Covid 19 has brought many challenges to all of us, creating many difficulties, one of which is gathering together in larger gatherings. This could have threatened this Christmas Dinner, and effectively shut it down. However, Mattawa Christian Life Pentecostal Church has decided to do a modified Community Christmas Dinner this year! Instead of having it at the Legion and having Christmas Baskets, we will be doing a Take Out and Delivery version of this time. We also have decided to pay for this dinner out of our yearly budget as a gift to our community. Our church does not believe in taking from you during these difficulties. We want you to know that we believe in our community, we believe in your families, and we want to come alongside you during the challenging times we are all facing. If you, a business, a volunteer organization wishes to participate in this event, we would gladly receive your donation and put it to good use, but we aren't actively requesting anything from you. Any surplus will be used to get gift cards for those that partake of the dinner. We know that these cards wouldn't cover holiday expenses, but we are intending to encourage those that might otherwise be alone, and/or struggling during this season. We will not be approaching you to get donations from you, but if you contact us, we will send designated people to you to receive your kind gift. We will be receiving reservations no later than December 12th, 2020, to help us prepare properly to better serve you.
