Our club trails will be closed as of today. We would like to thank all our members, volunteers and groomer operators for keeping our trails in excellent condition this past winter!

The Mattawa & Area Snowmobile Club is pleased that our trails are open. Please be advised, that those riding our trail system must reside in the North Bay/Parry Sound Health District only. ***Please refer to the OFSC Interactive Trail Guide before heading out on the trails.*** https://ofsc.evtrails.com/ *****All of the volunteers at the Mattawa & Area Snowmobile Club have worked their collective hearts out keeping our trail system groomed all winter. This was difficult for... the club volunteers knowing that for the majority of the winter our trails were completely shut down. But they persevered... Just recently, the North Bay/Parry Sound District Health Unit allowed the trails to be open but restricted only to those who reside in the Health Unit. Did that make the club and area businesses "Jump for Joy"? No... All of us would like to see the trails open "Unrestricted". However, that decision is made by the "Powers That Be" and not by the club, the area businesses nor the good folks in Mattawa. We are as frustrated as anyone. How about a shout-out and some kudos to those hardworking club volunteers who never gave up this winter? They deserve it! See more

We are more than HAPPY to advise that NBSC trails & all trails in D11 will be opening on Feb 22. We have all waited so long to hear this news! Now we ALL need ...to do our part in keeping them open for the remainder of the season. Please ride within your district our NBSC trails connecting to another health district will be closed. Please avoid gathering on the trails, parking areas, when loading/unloading from a trailer & follow all other safety measures that Public Health has in place. NBPSHU will be monitoring to make sure rules are being followed & have advised that trails could be shut down again as we still have the Stay-at-Home order in effect till March 8th. Many anxious snowmobilers are already contacting the OFSC to ask what today’s Ontario announcement means for snowmobiling. Rest assured that no one wants to kno...w more than we do. But given that the government took 5 days to put their announcement together and that it hasn’t yet updated the supporting regulations, please be patient while we take the required time to assess what if any change may be needed to the message we’ve been delivering since the current shutdown started on Dec 26 - ride locally on available (Yellow or Green) OFSC trails within your public health region while following all public health measures. We’ll post our update as soon as the Province provides more clarity.
