Less tech fail and more thoughts on therapy!

Here’s a little hug to everyone that needs it on #bluemonday I don’t know that the research supports this idea of Blue Monday, but I am a fan of the public discourse on #depression and #coping with it. Depression is very real and with increased isolation in our region I am, anecdotally, seeing more of what happens at the intersection of Global Pandemic and Mental Health...not the greatest street corner to hang out on. Please, please, please reach out to one another in thes...e very difficult times. If you have the bandwidth, check in on a friend, loved one or acquaintance who you think might be struggling. Even if they aren’t they will be touched. An old friend from university days texted me randomly on Friday to see if I was ok, because my presence on social media has dropped in recent months...while I am doing just fine, it brought a tear to my eye to be thought of. Love and care and connection with Dear Hearts is kind of the best inoculation against all the yuck until we can get an actual vaccine, and go back to safely enjoying our people and surrounds. Insight is great in therapy...especially when it leads to adaptive changes! It’s a lot about using the insight to help you with the micro decisions...that will look after the bigger ones...

Thoughts on trauma...we can grow from it, but this is NOT one of those everything happens for a reason posts. There is never a good enough reason to be traumatized. Period.

A little reminder for all of us on a Monday morning, when things don’t always go as planned...even I end up catastrophizing at times, despite being in this game more than 2 decades...mindfulness is a PRACTICE, not an end point...I will keep practicing.
