Not all CANS can be recycled for refund! Although these can be recycled curbside, they don’t belong in your bags for refund. The key thing to remember is that in order to pay the deposit and get the half back refund, they MUST be ready to drink BEVERAGES!

Did you know that we don’t recycle dairy products for refund but most nut milks have a deposit and can be recycled for refund? Bring them in to get half your deposit back!

Due to covid impacting the economy, we have to put a temporary STOP on collecting TEXTILES items as well as plastic bottle CAPS. Markets aren’t where they were 6 short months ago. We hope things turn around so we can divert these items from the landfill.

All new things take time...we are loving the new drive up, but it seems to be difficult for some to understand. Hopefully this helps! Red circle = enter here sign Blue Diamond = The steps to proceed... Read tall directions sign upon enter Only enter the Enter Only exit the Exit Enter to the LEFT of the string baracade Pull ahead to the furtherest spot available Once unloaded pull ahead Don’t unload at large bay door or back of line. Wait until you can reach spots A,B,C Don’t pull around to park to wait for refund No reversing from either end No parking anywhere except out front, although all vehicles are to enter the drive thru for service of any kind. The unpaved portion of the parking lot is actually a lane for the property behind us. Leo J Beazley 1996 Limited needs full access to the lane way at all times. Please be careful merging into this lane as you exit, as is has lots of traffic and large vehicles. We will have painted lines on pavement soon to help direct the traffic flow. Hopefully this will cut down on confusion as well as calls, emails and Facebook messages to ask the above questions. Be sure to CLICK on our business name to take your to our Facebook page and CLICK LIKE This will keep you up to date on our hours, new products as well as answer the all of your questions. Also SHARE this page to help get our message out! mattsbottleexchange.com is a great resource for your common questions. see in comment for photo of large sign that has instructions.

Our customers are always donating their refundable bags to different accounts to help raise money. We wanted to show what this actually looks like! Nancy Kelly came by today to grab a cheque for $1000.00 for the Eastern Passage Cow Bay Community Food Bank!... We are very thankful for the donations so we can help turn cans and bottles into cash for this great cause! And they can turn the cash into food! You can’t see it, but they are both smiling pretty big under those masks!!! Great job community!!!

From HRM’s website regarding Household Special Waste: The Halifax Regional Municipality continues to monitor and respond to the rapidly evolving effects of COVID-19. To support efforts in limiting social distances, operation of the Household Special Waste depot has been suspended until further notice. The operating schedule will be updated. This is in Bayers Lake, the only drop off site for HRM. Also Due to budget considerations given the economic impact of the COVID-19... pandemic, the Mobile HSW drop-off events for 2020 have been cancelled. This means Eastern Passage will not have a September site at Tallahassee as previous years. Currently all residents in HRM have no place to dispose of their special/hazardous waste products. We do NOT take any of the items that are meant for this facility. Please do NOT dump these items or leave after hours on our property. Call 311 (HRM) with any questions regarding Household Special Waste. Check out mattsbottleexchange.com for a full list of what we accept and don’t accept!
