Siwash Rock, Stanley Park, Vancouver, B.C. Also known by its Squamish name Skalsh. It is between 15 and 18 meters tall. The small Douglas fir on top started to grow up approx. in 1968 after 3 years the first Douglas die due to the dry summer of 1965. According to old stories, the rock represents a warrior, who to ensure his child’s future, was turned to stone to stand as a symbol of his purity and dedication to fatherhood.
