Max and Moritz 11.06.2021

If you're sad that takeout and snacks in the Manzanitaville area has been closed for at least another day, please remember that Max and Moritz has your back today from 4PM to 6PM, and that we can take phone orders up until that point at #-5888. We'll be open again tomorrow at the same time, as well as our regular morning hours during the Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay ferry times. Come get your Bamis, Nasis and Pitas! We're here for you in these trying times.

Hey everyone! For you islanders coming in from north of the pub and corner store, be aware that Sturdies Bay Road is blocked in the school area. Lucy had to take a big detour all the way down through Bluffs and Burrill Road to get to the ferry terminal. It's probably best to detour through the Bluffs that way instead of risking getting stuck on Sturdies Bay Rd, at least until it's given the all-clear. Max and Moritz is open today (Sunday) from 7:30-9:30AM, then again from 3-8PM!

Updated our times! Just a slight change--we're opening at 3:30PM on Fridays to catch the departures to Swartz Bay on the 4:25PM ferry. We're open for another hour and ten minutes today, and will be open again this coming Sunday. Feel free to phone ahead at 5888 to ensure you catch us before we're gone! Love you, Galiano! Hope you're enjoying the weather!

Feel free to order ahead by phone so you can get your food before the ferry!... (Did you ever notice there there was never a number 8 order in the old menu? Neither did we! Oops!) -T & L

It's the Fall season. What happens when fall arrives? The tiny, spooky pumpkins come out. Mark your calendars; tell your friends: Friday, October 30th will be the last day that Max and Moritz stays open in 2020! We will still have mail ordering available for your saucy needs. But the food truck will be closed for the winter, as the months turn and the season of darkness and cold comes upon us all.... It's been a foreshortened summer but we've learned so much from it. Thank you for all your patronage.

Today, we say our tearful but happy goodbyes to our dear Anna Banski, beloved coworker and daughter of the business, whose plane is taking off back to Germany as I write this post. Many of you who visited the island got to see her in action, cooking up a storm for the outgoing ferry departures. It's been a wonderful pleasure to work with her every year as I have, and I share in the happiness of many Galiano Islanders that got to see her grow into an incredible, whip-smart and... outgoing young woman. We do not know what next year will be like, and in these uncertain times we can never know how long the span of time will last between goodbyes. But I know we all look forward to seeing her again, and wish her luck as she faces off against the punishing German university curriculum! One last thing before I sign off: Our hours on Sunday will be shortening once more, as we now exclusively occupy the evening times from 5-8PM. Feel free to order ahead at our phone number, 539-5888! Five more weeks until we close on Halloween. You've got only five more weeks of us, Galiano! Let's make it last. Warm regards! -Tito

Here's a photo of the ferry terminal after 8:00 PM, September 7th. The end of Labour Day. The summer has ended and the days grow shorter. So too do our hours--on weekdays, 7-8:30AM, 10:30AM-12:30PM and 4-6:30PM in the afternoon. Closed on Saturdays, and open 7-9AM, and 3-8PM on Sundays. Like any other year, we'll be closing for the year on October 31st--Halloween, the spookiest day of the year. As always, you can mail order our sauce via email and messenger, at any time of t...he year. It's been a weird, anxiety-inducing 2020, and travel already has a bit of stress attached to it. We hope our food has lifted you up when you've felt down, and comforted you in times of grey. One and a half months before we close! We hope to see you before then!
