Revised, updated, and freshly reprinted Walter Lanz's classic guide: Along the Dempster is now in stock at Max's! Packed with all kinds of great information about travelling the iconic Dempster Highway, this edition also includes a section about the Inuvik to Tuktoyaktuk Highway.

Hi everyone, The George Black ferry was put in the water this morning and they are currently doing some test runs to make sure it is safe to go from one side to... the other without getting stuck anywhere with this low water. The latest news on the ferry is also that it will be running 24 hours a day as usual. It will also have a weight capacity limit of 33 000 kg until further notice. They will give an 8 hour notice if they have to shut it down due to low water. The Border on Top of the World Highway at Little Gold/Poker Creek will open on Tuesday May 21st at 9am Yukon time, as long as every thing goes well. We will keep you all posted if we hear of any changes to that! See more
