Maxi is safe!! We Would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to René at Toromont. Thanks to him, we were able to finally capture Maxi and bring him to safety. He is fine and will need a good bath and trim but otherwise is in good shape! We would like to thank the West Island community once again for helping us locate this rogue Trotter!

Well, I know we have been quiet on the page. There’s a reason for this We had located him and we were quietly working at capturing him. I have good news, he has just been captured and is now safe and sound and on his way to the vet to get checked out. Thank you everybody for cooperating with us In this long pursuit. As soon as he’s done at the vet, we will post another update as well as some pictures!

We NEED HELP! If you would like to assist with distributing flyers, please send us a PM! Posting flyers in the immediate areas is absolutely one of the most critical steps needed. This is the footprint we leave behind in the areas to let the community know Fred is missing and how to reach us. 1.) When posting flyers on lampposts or other vertical surfaces on the street, make sure you place them at the average adult eye level facing a 45 degree angle to oncoming traffic. 2.) F...raming your flyer with bright colored paper may help draw attention in high traffic areas. 3) Key locations for posting flyers include high traffic area including parks, schools, bus / train stops and intersections. 4.) Please stop and talk to people you see while distributing flyers. Please let them know Fred is missing; people will remember this conversation and the urgency of our search. Please ask them to take a photo of Fred’s flyer with their phone or give them a smaller version of the flyer (4 x 4) so that they will have immediate access to the phone numbers should they spot him. 5.) Protect your flyers with stretch wrap, protective plastic sleeves or clear freezer bags. All these items can be purchased inexpensively at Dollarama! 6.) Tuck Tape is your best friend! Tuck Tape is very durable and weather resistant tape. It can cost a little more ($8.99/roll), but it's worth the investment as it lasts! It can be purchased at most hardware stores. 7.) Please do not cover up other people's posters with your own - others have lost dogs too, and it's important to respect their search. 8.) Please record and report back where you have placed flyers. We do not want to duplicate effort and want to ensure full coverage of the area. 9.) We can never have too many flyers up! Too many is a good thing! It's attracts attention and stresses the urgency of the search. THANKS EVERYONE! See more

******ATTENTION ATTENTION ****** MAXI IS MISSING and has been spotted in the Fairview Pointe-Claire area. We need this great community's help. Help Find Maxi is a page created to help centralize messages and sighting of this lost dog and help us work more efficiently and successfully in communicating with the community. ... WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU IS; - REPORT ALL SIGHTINGS IMMEDIATELY BY CALLING 514-432-8510 - PLEASE DO NOT CHASE OR PURSUE HIM OR CALL OUT TO HIM. - DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CATCH HIM. - DO NOT FORM SEARCH PARTIES (this will sweep him out of his safe zone and into potential danger and a new location where we will need to start from scratch again) - PLEASE DO NOT FEED HIM. Chasing, following, calling out and feeding, although they seem like the logical thing to do, are actually not. We have a team of experienced tracker/trappers working with us. Any of the above actions can push him out of his safe zone and put him in danger. He is in survival mode and will flee from any people and other dogs as they pose a threat in this situation. We have strategically placed feeding stations which are being monitored by cellular cameras. Leaving random food out for him will hinder our efforts. West Islanders, this is not our first rodeo of this sort and we have always succeeded in achieving our goals by working together as a community, right? Lets put our WI pride at work here and lets get this pup home where he belongs. PLEASE SHARE THIS PAGE WITH ALL YOUR FRIENDS!!! -
