I came up with the idea for The Gargs this morning at about 7:00 am. Before starting to write, I freefell (like skydiving with words and phrases) for several hours through the plot, characters, and setting. I also looked for various images and recurring phrases that could carry the theme and story about the Gargs, monstrous little creatures that fell so much in love with vegetables there were none left for children. Children suffered dearly for lack of vitamins and minerals.... It took a little child and kitty treats to bring the world back to normal. I began writing The Gargs at 11:30 am while waiting to hear the surgeon's prognosis for my two biopsies. After one hour in the waiting room, my first draft was complete. Lucky for me, the prognosis, though confirming cancer on the back of my tongue and in the glands in my neck, turned out to be very positive. After returning home, I re-wrote The Gargs, polishing over and over again for about four hours until I felt the story complete. Anyone wishing to read The Gargs are welcome message me privately and I will reply with a copy.

I had to cancel my performances at the White Rock Sea Festival Pirates in the Park this weekend because of throat issues - the first cancellation ever - but I did get into the bubbles.

Wrote a new story yesterday called Mighty Mousy and the Pirate Cats. Mighty Mousy has five younger siblings to take car of since their Mom and Dad met the fate of many a mouse before them. Unfortunately, between their hole in the bilge and the ships galley two pirate cats lie in wait, Long John Left Silver and Long John Right Silver. To save his little brothers and sisters, Mighty Mousy has to come up with a Great, Great, Great, Great Granddad of an idea.
