May Court Club thanks front-line workers with coffee cards, handwritten notes NEWS RELEASE THE MAY COURT CLUB OF BARRIE ************************* The May Court Club of Barrie has given each employee in Roberta Place Retirement Lodge (148), Grove Park Home (213) and IOOF Seniors Home (225) a personal handwritten card and $10 in Starbucks Coffee gift cards totalling $5,860.... Jen and Jason O’Neil of McDonald’s Barrie topped the Thinking of You cards with 200 McCafe cards split between the facilities. Members of the May Court Club of Barrie normally volunteer each month at Grove Park and IOOF but haven’t been able to since the COVID-19 restrictions have been put in place. We wanted to let them know we are still thinking about them. It was important to include Roberta Place as they are challenged in the worst situation with the spread of the COVID-19 variant, President of the May Court Club of Barrie Patricia Manson said while discussing this effort. In only 12 days and the co-ordination of 21 volunteers, we placed a rush order on the gift cards, hand wrote individual note cards created by the May Court Club of Barrie artists, pulled together each persons’ efforts and delivered the cards before Valentine’s. We felt that it was important to let these stressed staff know that someone is still thinking about them even after the Christmas giving season was over. The May Court Club of Barrie, a registered charity, founded in 1970, has raised and donated over $2,773,000 to charitable needs in the City of Barrie. The gifts for the front-line workers came from their own membership funds as a personal thank you. See more

As there is very little news from May Court these days, this little May Court Club of Barrie Retro brings back a few memories from the past - the old Odds n' Sods to current day Homes for the Holidays. There is no particular time line, just memories and you might like to view it in full screen.

As winter approaches, please note, we will no longer be accepting the following items: Belts, Dresses, Pants including jeans, spring/summer wear, evening purses, scarfs, suit jackets, evening attire, skirts. The shop is overstocked with these items. We are accepting sweaters, coats, jackets, athletic wear (including track pants, hats), gloves, mitts, boots, comfy clothing for the winter days ahead so come on in and browse.
