u " " Duke was a big lovable goofball. A true advocate for the breed, he was friends with all and helped many people and dogs overcome their fears. He was a mentor dog at Dogma, often helping dogs with fear or aggression concerns with other dogs. He loved his time with the puppies on helping them feel safe around big dogs. He became our spokesdog and attended many events with Megan, including a large business event in Calgary with over 600 people ...in attendance. Kris got Duke, and his sister, as puppies. They were so attached to each other whenever he saw them that he could not take just one. They helped Kris work through a challenging time in his life. He brought them to Dogma and we often joke that Megan and Duke fell in love first. Duke changed Kris’s life and became his bestest bubba. Duke had a large social media following and touched many lives. We lost him suddenly in February and he left a huge hole in our hearts. We will forever miss his big grin, head rubs and snuggles. Happy birthday Kris Stanley ! and Thank you for the opportunity of creating this amazing memory Megan @dogma_megan

Meet Ivar and his story! Ivar was just over 2 years old when I met him. I moved in with my boyfriend in January, in March, Ivar showed aggressive signs and tried to bite. We let it go, a month later he tried to attack again. ... Unfortunately, after a visit to the vet, the vet determined he was a very aggressive dog and would likely attack me (or someone else) again, most likely due to protecting his owner. It was very hard for my boyfriend to accept as he got Ivar during a dark time in his life and Ivar was his best friend. While Ivar is in good hands now, I still see him as a very lovable and sweet dog. He was lazy at home but adventurous when we went out for walks. Ivar was incredibly stubborn and everyone loved him and remembered his face the most. He didn’t care for other dogs and was always protective of us. I feel incredibly sad for what happened with Ivar and this pet portrait is meant to be a gift for my boyfriend to always remember Ivar as a very special part of our family and his best friend.

Do you ever feel like you need something specific to happen before you declare that the day is good? I used to do that too. Now I decide that every day is a good day. I learned a while ago that I can’t control everything but I can control my thoughts and my attitude. Attitude and thoughts are the number one way that you can control your future. Those with a good attitude, who let happy thoughts fill their minds and push out negative ones set the stage for good things to come... their way. Although no one is guaranteed anything in life we are all guaranteed right now. We get to do whatever we want with it. Right now we can choose to be happy. We can focus on all of your sorrows or all of your joys. We can look at life as a challenge you can conquer or you can give up. I hope you never give up. Having a good attitude is the first step to not only a happy day but a happy life. It’s not always easy to be happy. It’s not always easy to push out feelings of anxiety and doubt. But once we decide that we are done with letting negativity into our life it becomes second nature to always look on the bright side of life. I have been having between tennis elbow and an infection my days have been a bit hectic, and I rest, take my medicines and keep smiling ;) Seriously try it. Smile more and watch the opportunities come your way! Take it one day at a time. Decide today is a good day to have a good day!

Little paintings make me happy! Something that doesn't take too long gives me a feeling of accomplishment. And I wanted to share with you what gives you a feeling of accomplishment?

Rest & Self Care is so important that when you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. You cannot serve from an empty vessel. There are some seasons of life when we move at a breakneck pace, more or less by choice. We take on too much, overcommit, overschedule and overwhelm ourselves. In these cases, I can get lost in saying yes too, I push myself and think I can; until I break and rest is necessary, there is no other option. We th...ink there’s nothing we can really do about it except ride it out and remind ourselves that this is temporary, that this too shall pass. Some of the thing I know to do are: Meditation is amazing; when I commit to it, I feel great grounded and energized because I am focused. Naping. When I allow myself to have that 20 min nap, I wake up with more energy and happier. Be in the middle of something. Permitting myself to watch a movie, read a book, contemplate helps the mind to relax and not being stress out about all the thing s that need to be done. My arm is really sore, I have lots of painting and I am giving my self-time to do this. So if you don’t see me as often on Insta is because I need to heal ;) Take time for you. You deserve it!

An other pet portrait almost done I am loving this palette loos so cool! Acrylic is a completely different medium from. Watercolour they have a heavier body, what I love the most is the thoughtful accumulation that happens, seen how the colour starts building the form by doing stroke on top of stroke

So David my hubby (@davidschmeikal) and I are running a new podcast series. It’s called: ! We’ve been in business together for as long as we’ve been married. We are into their 13th year, have been through 6 iterations of our businesses to date, are proud parents of twin 9-year-olds (which we’re now homeschooling in our new normal).... We share what it’s taken to keep our relationship just as much a priority as our family and business ventures. The strategies we’ve crafted and curated to manage the stress, the inevitable conflict, differences of opinions and facing our fears together... If you want to listen the link is in the bio: https://thegyst.podbean.com/e/e1-so-i-married-an-entreprene
