I haven't posted an update in a while so here we go: - Obviously, Covid-19 protocols are still in effect. - Online booking remains deactivated so I can try and work through the waitlist and, for the foreseeable future it will remain turned off. - The waitlist: it's long. Thank you for that. I really do my best to try and move people off the waitlist but I actually need somewhere to put them and I don't really have very many cancellations. Babies tend to get priority simply... because their problems are really big in their tiny bodies. - I try to call people back in a timely fashion but I don't have a receptionist. If your call comes in Mon-Thursday I usually work until 8:00 pm so it may take me a day or so to get back to you. Fri-Sun are my days off and I'm trying out this whole work/life balance thing so...I may not call you until the beginning of the next week. - There are registered massage therapists with online booking accepting new clients at Suncoast Integrated Health and Timber Wellness. Wishing you all health and wellness. -Claire

It's that time of year again. My weather may be different than your weather and they're calling for a bit of snow accumulation this afternoon/evening. If you are uncomfortable driving or you can't get here safely, please let me know. I don't penalize people for good, safe decision making. And as always, if you're feeling unwell, please cancel. For everyone's well being.

Thanks everyone. The clinic is closed for the holidays. See you all in January.

Well, things have already changed and Powell River is now included in the new regulations. We are still open and will be requiring medical/surgical masks which we have in stock if needed. If anything else changes, I will be sure to update you.

We are still open. Yes, the numbers are climbing. Be safe everyone. Make good decisions. Powell River is specifically exempt from the current closures and, though "home-based", the clinic is an entirely separate building from everything else on the property. Also, we have an 8-page Covid-19 protocols document which we are still rigorously adhering to. So...I will definitely be sticking to my post-apocalyptic RMT look for the foreseeable future.

My goodness, I love YouTube sometimes. Not the most "exciting video" for some of you but this is great information as to why your symptoms/pain are not necessarily where the issue is. https://www.youtube.com/watch

At least last week's unexpected week off (smoke related, just to be clear) gave me plenty of time to be ready for my Conception, Pregnancy and Birth CST Zoom course. I honestly didn't know how a Zoom manual therapy course would go but it was really quite amazing. At a certain point of study you aren't so much learning new techniques as you are learning how to apply your existing skillset to certain situations/client presentations. There was an instructor as well as TA's, a ...few familiar faces from my courses in BC/Alberta but also a whole host of people from around the world I would not normally see in my courses, including a neonatologist who is also the director of a neonatal unit at an American hospital (the instructor almost fangirled on the first day because she actually quotes said doctor's work in the course.) It was amazing to have her observations and contributions to the conversations, not something I would normally get the benefit from. I am definitely a Zoom course fan! What I really found fascinating was the how much of the knowledge is applicable to all clients, (not just pregnant women and babies.) So, mostly I am happy to report that learning continues, Covid, smoky skies, or not.
