Mayfair Farms 07.01.2021

Another beautiful December day. Wow, I think this is the earliest we’ve ever sold so many real trees. So nice that you’ll have time to spruce things up & able to enjoy them, but please remember this is not the season to be knotty. Please be nice to your tree, water it daily & try keep it away from heat vents if possible, this will help it last longer! We hope you have a Christmas you’ll never fir-get! #getfreshwithmayfair #makememoriesatmayfair Please give us a call if you’d like us to reserve a tree for you before they’re gone. (856-9542)

If you’ve been pining fir a real tree this year... they have arrived! We will start selling them this coming week. Unfortunately we won’t be able to have them hanging nicely on display this year. We will just be leaving them wrapped and having to use curb side pickup and delivery only. We have Balsam Fir and Fraser Fir trees and will post sizes and prices on Monday. Thankyou! Things are different this year, but we are still hoping to help you have a tree-mendous Christmas.

Well this season has come to a quick end. We are as sad as you are! 2020 has surely been a year for the books & we were not sure what to expect out of trying our best to operate in a safe and manageable manner. It’s been a bit of a battle, we chose not to advertise this year(except for one ad in the beginning of July) as we did not want to give false hope and still we’ve had daily line ups of cars by 6:30am. If anything, we feel like we have been discouraging people from com...ing to our farm this year (something no business wants to do) and it’s been extremely disheartening to not be able to supply all our wonderful customers. Our apologies. There are still many other fantastic MB berry farms operating, though I feel that the demand/struggle has been province wide. As another fruit grower recently quoted: #iguessstrawberriesarethenewtoiletpaper Enjoy the rest of your summer! See more

Pretty sure the raspberry patch is Grandmas favourite place to be! While our strawberry season is quickly coming to an end (much earlier than we’d hoped), the Raspberries are just getting started. Open daily, upick & pre-picked. #makememoriesatmayfair #getfreshwithmayfair

July 9th: current strawberry situation for our farm is as follows. Upick: we are open, however we want you to be aware that we could be very busy - we are trying to operate as safely as possible while following guidelines and so if you’re coming to our farm in the coming days there could be times throughout the day where we become so busy that there are wait times to get into the patch etc. The season should last up to two more weeks & we hope to be open almost everyday 7am-...9pm. You can give us a call before you come, but unfortunately right now there are no guarantees. Pre-picked: we are now booking into next week for pre-pick orders. We will have prepicked on our shelves as often as possible so you can always pop by and take your chances. The store is stocked with lots of local goods and is open daily 7am-9pm. Thankyou all for your business and for helping us navigate this season safety. We hope that over the next two weeks we can provide you with a fun, fresh air experience & sweet, juicy berries. #makememoriesatmayfair #getfreshwithmayfair See more

We are going to lay down the markers for tomorrow(Wednesday July 8th) and close the patch for the day. They are calling for rain and also the fruit needs time to ripen up. Again, we can’t say enough how grateful we are for all our wonderful customers and we know things don’t always run smoothly over here, but that’s farming. The demand right now for fresh strawberries has been overwhelming and though we’d like to supply everyone we simply just can’t keep up right now. We are... anticipating it to be this way through the weekend so if you’re wanting to come to the farm you’ll be taking the risk that we are sold out, over capacity etc. Please keep in mind that Strawberry season is just getting started and should last for at least 2 more weeks, so there is plenty of time. We often find we get so busy in the beginning and can’t keep up and by the last week we have lots of berries and no more people. No one wants to miss out, we get it! thanks again. #makememoriesatmayfair Farm gate store will still be open tomorrow 7-9 for local veggies. See more

Mayfair Farms 01.08.2020

Very sorry, but we are Currently sold out of Prepicked and the patch is full. . We unfortunately cannot guarantee anything over the next few days, if you’re wanting to come upick you can take your chances. Thanks

Mayfair Farms 04.07.2020

Saturday July 4th, 8am- currently raining here with lightning, no picking permitted until the lightning stops. If it clears later in the day please bring proper footwear for mud. We are all smiles & strawberries over here! It’s been a busy couple of days trying to navigate the beginning of our season that came quicker than anticipated with all this heat. We are hoping to be open everyday of the week from 7am-9pm, however we do recommend that you call before driving any dis...tance as things change quickly on our farm with variables such as weather and capacity. What to expect while visiting our farm in 2020: social distancing is required, this may increase wait times or delays. only those people picking strawberries will be allowed in the patch, maximum 2 people/basket hand sanitizer is readily available and required to be used before and after picking. unfortunately, no eating strawberries in the patch (We are sad about this too) we are asking our customers to please help us keep our numbers lower & picking with people from the same household. please do not take any unnecessary items in the patch with you. farm gate store is open daily with local goodies, you can shop inside (max 4 people at a time) or shop online and pickup or delivery (portage only). Thankyou for your support and patience, we are hoping the sweetness will last for about 3 weeks! #makememoriesatmayfair #getfreshwithmayfair See more

So 2020... along with everywhere else in the world, things are going to look a little differently on our farm this coming season. Just wanted to give a quick update: -Strawberry season will not likely get started this year until sometime within the first week of July due to the cooler spring. - Our little farm gate store will open on June 22 with whatever is ready locally, so we can ease into everything. Due to our space restrictions (only one person inside at a time) we hav...e set up our website with online shopping and barnside pickup or delivery(within the portage area) - we hope to run our u-pick as normal as possible while enforcing social distancing and other new rules (will post at a later date). - we appreciate your patience as we navigate these new challenges. We are all in this together, even if we will be a few more berry rows apart. See more
