For Mayhew, giving back to the community in which we live, work and do business is not only considerate and compassionate, but a responsibility as good global citizens. Last year, we proudly partnered with Habitat for Humanity , Wellington Dufferin Guelph, and Halwell Mutual Insurance Company in the update of Habitat for Humanity’s work space on Dawson Road in Guelph, Ontario. The project was to refresh their space to improve communication and collaboration as well as make it more accessible and visible to the community. Halwell Mutual was there to support the project from a corporate philanthropic perspective; and Mayhew was able to make the team’s vision a reality by leading with our interior design space and planning capabilities. #workplacesthatwork #mayhew @ Guelph, Ontario

Looking for a LEED compliant designer? Have a look at our project with The Grimsby Town Hall - a proposed LEED certified building, designed by Mayhew, is located on a previously developed town site. The Grimsby Town Hall reduced new material and waste during the construction by reusing 85% of the structure and shell from the existing building. Strategies have been implemented to reduce the amount of water and energy being consumed by the Grimsby Town Hall. To improve indoor a...ir quality for employees and visitors, the Town of Grimsby has restricted the use of products that emit high levels of chemicals that can cause health issues inside the building. This minimizes the quantity of indoor air contaminants and increases the comfort and well-being of the building occupants. January marks the 1 year anniversary of our project with @glaxoklein (GlaxoSmithKlein) and this Mississauga, Ontario office. GSK needed their new workspace to follow UK workplace standards, meaning they had to have an 8:10 ratio of desks, no assigned seating, and no individual offices. This open collaborative concept is a great example of agile workspaces and how they can be utilized with supporting spaces in close proximity. Areas such as meeting spaces of various sizes, enclaves and telephone rooms, to allow for heads down work as well as team work.
