This is what real leadership looks like. No sugar coating or denying the issue, acknowledging the challenge but offering a way through the crisis and offering rallying words of encouragement. No politics or partisanship, just plain straight talk based on facts and reality but tempered with empathy.

Just a reminder to complete you census report online at www.census.gc.ca It is to be completed on or before May 11. It is easy and fast to do using your personal secure access code which came with your census envelope. It is very important that everyone is counted. Many programs and funding are based on the census.

The Premier, Dr Strang and countless medical experts agree that asymptomatic testing is an important part of stopping the community spread of Covid-19. I agree but here is the message on the one site we have in Pictou which requires that you make an appointment prior to getting tested. My question is; when will we have a pop-up rapid test site in Pictou County to test asymptomatic people? Is it possible that we have no one in Pictou County who is positive with no symptoms, totally unaware they have covid, and are unwittingly spreading the virus? I would say it is highly unlikely!
