Lawrence Ferlinghetti (1919-2021) Memorial Winnipeg Poet Ron Romanowski reads a special poem to commemorate the life of the great poet and cultural icon Larry Ferlinghetti, whose work has inspired countless poets and writers over decades. Launched at 2019’s MayWorks Ron Romanowski’s poetry collection If 30,000 Strikers Marched Today commemorates the strikers’ part in the Winnipeg General Strike of 1919 on its centennial. Ron was featured poet at the Winnipeg International W...riters Festival Speaking Crow reading series last July and was one of the artists who participated in the Manitoba Museum’s innovative performance evening dedicated to the 1919 Strike last June. Ron’s poem When One Cataclysm Melts Into Another was published in the Winnipeg Free Press April 18th Writes of Spring poetry section. Ron won the 2020 Lake Winnipeg Writers Group Poetry Contest.
