Canadian Pakistani Association of Scarborough (CPAS) donated over $10,000 food items to Dorset Park Hub Food bank. Hundreds of thousands of Canadians are in need of food support as many Canadians lost their jobs during this pandemic. Food banks are dealing with food shortages. It was great to be part of this food drive. We are all in it together.

What a great announcement today by Ontario Liberal Leader, Steven Del Duca. As part of our plan, within 100 days of taking office, Ontario Liberals will provide pocketbook relief by cutting the cost of before and after-school care by more than 50% to $10/day. Ontario Liberals created guaranteed paid sick leave in 2018. Sadly Doug Ford doesn't agree - he eliminated a right to paid sick days as one of his reckless cuts to public services. Paid sick days are a right of every person in Ontario. No one should have to choose between their family’s health and putting food on the table. https://torontosun.com//del-duca-ontarians-need-ford-to-re

As we look at 2020, I am sad that we lost a lot of good people, our businesses livelyhood suffered, our places of worship were empty and we were unable to meet our loved ones. This difficult time also came with a silver lining. It taught us that human spirit cannot be dampened by catastrophe. I organized and participated in numerous food drives where people gave more than the previous years. Most people stayed home to comply with the advice of healthcare professionals. We learned a new skill to enjoy the company of our friends and family virtually. This all gives me lots of hope that 2021 will be a great year, not only we will bounce back but we will be hopeful, work hard and never forget that in Canada better is always possible. Happy New Year to all of you.

The staff in long term care homes are our heroes in the fight against COVID-19. I dropped some bags of choclates today at Hellenic Home for the Aged as a small thank you to the frontline workers. Your dedication is making a difference.

So proud to raise $50,000 for Go Green Cricket Field project in Thorncliffe Park, Toronto. First illuminated field in Canada, where cricket can be played in flood lights. Thanks to the Consulate of Pakistan, specially Consul General at that time, Mr. Nafees Zakria and Pakistani Business community who came forward on my call and helped.
