Covid-19 update. With more unprecedented free time we are now able to work on a number of projects. One in particular is a redesign of one of our original offerings from almost twenty years ago. It’s now into its fourth incarnation - better mousetrap!... Many ideas have been percolating over the past few years, so we now have time to fully develop FOUR complete new lines of sticks. Still prototyping. Details when appropriate. Remember, six feet apart is better than six feet under. Stay safe everyone.

A quick post to recognize our great teacher Cloyd Duff’s birthday today. After some research and discussion with many former students, we find it interesting that he, in spite of having a pair of flannel mallets, (Jim Atwood thinks a gift long ago from a European player) he never used them. In lessons he never mentioned flannel. According to Peter Kogan who both studied with Cloyd and spent a number of years in the Cleveland Orchestr next to him, his ‘go to’ sticks we’re always a wood core. Usually a #1, well voiced.
