MBA Law Day/ ABM Journée du droit

Regrettably, the Manitoba Bar Association (MBA) has decided not to hold its Law Day Open House that usually takes place at the Winnipeg Law Courts Complex in April of each year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Winnipeg Law Courts Complex will be undergoing a large renovation project in 2020. Therefore, Law Day Open House that usually takes place at the Winnipeg Law Courts Complex will not be held in 2020. Keep watching this page for information on Law Day Open Houses that may be held outside of Winnipeg and for information about the Winnipeg Law Day Open House in 2021.

For anyone who is planning to attend the Law Day Open House in Winnipeg on Sunday, April 14, 2019, you should plan to arrive early. Everyone coming to the Law Courts Complex is required to pass through a security screening area, similar to security at an airport. Students from Collège Louis-Riel, Glenlawn Collegiate, J. H. Bruns Collegiate, Oak Park High School, Shaftesbury High School, St. John's-Ravenscourt School, St. James Collegiate, St. Mary's Academy and Windsor Park Collegiate will present the trial of R. v. Bann. The case involves an accused who is charged with second degree murder. The high school student mock trials will be held at the Winnipeg Law Courts Complex, 408 York Avenue on Sunday April 17, 2016 at 12:15pm and 2:15pm in various Courtrooms.
