Tomorrow at 2pm is the first out of 3 Online Ticketing sessions with Evie Lavers of Rhythm Club! "Ticketing Webinar Overview on Eventbrite & Tikkit" is free for all to attend Join zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84317591786 (Meeting ID: 843 1759 178) Take it from Evie: What we have heard from many of you is that the decision of which platform to select AND the implementation/setting up a ticketing platform is where your ticketing journey stops, before it even begins! Never ...fear. I am here to get us all started. In our first session together for the year I’ll take us through the pros and cons of Eventbrite & Tickit and share my knowledge on Ticketpro too. So you can ask questions and then (hopefully) make an informed decision to take your organization into the online space of getting butts in seats in 2022! #ManitobaArtsNetwork #MANWebinars #WebinarWednesdays

It is with much sadness that the Manitoba Arts Network is sharing the news of Vince Fontaine’s passing. We were so lucky to have Vince as a mentor for our Indigenous Artist development program in 2018 hosted in Portage la Prairie, MB as part of MB Showcase. We know Vince had a huge impact on the five emerging artists he worked with that year and truly appreciate the time, energy, and care he contributed to the artists and our program. We consider ourselves very fortunate to h...ave worked with Vince this past fall to tour his band Indian City to 9 Indigenous communities in rural Manitoba. What made this tour so special was that it was a unique one-time opportunity made possible with funding from Canadian Heritage, a free concert for their communities, and for some, it was their first live concert since covid hit. Our deepest sympathies to his family and friends, and to Manitoba’s music community. With less than a week left until The RBC Mentorship Pitch Session, Manitoba Arts Network would like to introduce our last mentee duo, Serenade! Combining radio friendly melodies with the traditional bluegrass style, Serenade has played multiple performances at many venues in Winnipeg and Manitoba, recently performed as part of Festival du Voyageur 2020, and are currently recording their debut EP: Country Love Songs. This pandemic has challenged our art and our bond. We prid...e ourselves on being the best of friends through thick and thin and this experience has highlighted just how important we are to each other. We haven’t been able to sing together or see each other since late September, which made working on our music very difficult. Together with Sheena, we focussed on realizing what made us special and what we had to celebrate. Sheena has taught us how to find joy before fault and how to stop being our own worst critic. We learned how to pick our best repertoire through realizing our collective and individual strengths. This opportunity did wonders for our confidence. We’re so grateful and excited for what is to come. You can follow Serenade on Instagram @letusserenadeyou Photo: Cella Rousseau

Join Ontario Presents this Friday for their free webinar "What If? Imagining New Ways of Working in the Performing Arts" What if tickets didn’t have prices? This is the topic of this interactive ideation session! Join Arkady Spivak, Artistic Producer of Talk is Free Theatre (TiFT), and artist Brendan Chandler as they share some of the innovations that TiFT has implemented, and guide a brainstorming session in which participants can work together to envision opportunities for change in our sector. Heather Martens Rempel works as a printmaker/collage artist, and art educator. Her work has been in numerous solo and group exhibits across Manitoba.
