Training, training and more training! Always good to get out with some of our local fire departments and do some cross training. We can all learn some very valuable skills from each other. Thanks to the Kerwood and Strathroy volunteer fire departments for hosting us today!
For an incredible 65 years, Fire Fighters have been supporting Muscular Dystrophy Canada and Canadians impacted by neuromuscular disorders. Unfortunately, due t...o COVID-19, Fire Fighters had to cancel their efforts to Fill the Boot this Spring. However, the needs of those impacted by neuromuscular disorders cannot be cancelled. To support Fire Fighters and MDC clients, a new virtual event has been launched #filltheboot Please help Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Department Fill the Boot by visiting: https://muscle.akaraisin.com//4f0a1781379149b5a579049eb6c2 We will miss seeing your friendly faces in-person. We really appreciate your help! The virtual event will run September 19 to September 26. Stay Safe & Healthy. Sincerely yours, Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Department

I'm getting excited! Farmer Tony will be organizing Komoka and Kilworth tomorrow, but I get to hang out with the Volunteer Fire Fighters in Strathroy! Tomorrow... is our annual Fire Department Fundraiser - the Mount Brydges Fire Fighters Association from the Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Department take over our Strathroy stand ... all sales proceeds go to this incredible group - to purchase much-needed life saving equipment that is not funded through their government funding. Also please note that we will be taking donations for the two families who lost their homes in that awful fire yesterday evening - our donation box will be there until the end of our season and sent to each family weekly. This is a very important group that Farmer Tony and I feel passionate about supporting - come out and say thank you in person! There has been a lot of confusion regarding the most recent "Ontario Wide" fire ban issued by the Ontario government. The fire ban issued by the Ontario government, is only for the fire regions of Northern Ontario, Zone 1 to 36 as indicated in the image. These fire banned regions DO NOT cover southwestern Ontario. Burn bans in southwestern Ontario are issued by the city or municipality governing those regions. Strathroy-Caradoc is NOT currently under a fire ban restriction. ...However, as always, every open fire in our municipality must comply with our Open Fire Bylaw 17-12.
