Good design answers questions before they even get asked. It gives people only what they need in a way they can interpret efficiently and clearly and doesn’t get in the way. Poor design leaves gaps. Gaps get filled by people making things up and assuming they know the answers to their questions. (Some people more than others perhaps! Ahem.)

Vintage Cabins on beautiful Shawnigan Lake. It’s been so cool to see this dream become a reality! We helped create the identity for this at the start of 2020. In a recent visit, it was incredible to see how far it’s all come (even with the interesting year we’ve had!). Equally as impressive was to get a sense of what’s next for this cool property. A few months ago as we were all brainstorming how the new CoffeeBar at Brentwood Bay Resort would come to life, we agreed on a few cornerstone pieces of the puzzle. From there, everything could slide into place over time. A handful of these cornerstone pieces included:... - opening and closing at (oddly) specific hours of the day - being open 7 days per week for the community - serving exceptional coffee from Level Ground Trading - providing a few options that are a little different from the norm The times were chosen for a number of reasons, from operational to convenience for BCFerries crew and passengers, and just to be a little different and unique.
